  • issue is resolved…it was a personal browser issue…

    I’m using WP 3.1 and BP 1.2.8

    thanks for the lead mericme…

…fyi…I do have to remaining issues with BP that I will address later…one is `users can’t log out in Internet Explorer..it’s throwing an error`…and the other is `when you send a personal message to a friend, there’s suppose to be a dropdown of friend avatar’s and that’s throwing an error as well`…

those are my two only other issues…

…it was something called “Nivo Slider”…it was for the homepage…I didn’t like it anyway…so I’ll just get another plugin…

    thanks a lot everyone…and to you Paul…

    SOLVED!

…It was a plugin who’s jQuery code was interfering with the crop’s jQuery…

    thanks a lot!!!

    alright…

the error message that I’m getting when I check the “error console” is:

    `jQuery(“#avatar-to-crop).Jcrop is not a function

    http://sociallyaffluent.com/sexyafter30/members/jsmitty/profile/change-avatar/

    line: 98`

and it stops there..so whatever this error is it looks like it may be the culprit..

    @ Paul Gibbs

I’m going to do this tomorrow morning (…it’s 1:56am in Atlanta)….thanks for your assistance and I’ll keep you updated…

    @ mercime

…thanks as well…I need and conserted effort to resolve this…I’ve come to far and I’m almost done..

    thanks…this is a fake username and password…

    username: jsmitty
    password: WinISay

once you login, you’ll see the navigation options in the top right bar underneath the header..”my profile”, “my friends”…etc..

does anyone else have any thoughts on how I can fix this cropping issue?

In the forum loop in “forums-loop.php”, you use:

fyi…I think there is something wrong with this forum…the “edit” button doesn’t work and when I try to view other pages, the screen goes blank…

just wanted you to know that…

    Here is the link: http://sociallyaffluent.com/sexyafter30

Click on “register”…fill out some random information and you’ll see..(just to give you a visual).

The image uploads and there isn’t anything wrong with the server variables. The only thing that happens is that the “crop screen” doesn’t appear. The image appears in the crop screen, but I don’t get the crop tool. So the image that’s uploaded is the “upper left corner” of the image.

    I’m sorry..I’m using WP 3.1 and BP 1.2.8

would reinstalling bbpress be a quick solution? I would think that this would only affect the group forums, forums, or blogs that have been created thus far…and really I only have one sample group created with one forum topic within that group…

update: I just used “grep” to look for the old url path and it didn’t exist anywhere…

    ..ok…appreciate it very much…that’s one fix…

it’s still doing the same thing though…I’ll search other setup files to see if the old url is there..of course if you are knowledge of other files, I would appreciate the further advice…

..I’m wondering if I need to reinstall the bbpress files…

    a little more information:

the way I have it setup is I have a drop down category called “topics” which is a “subcategory” for “community”. So the file I use is “category-topics.php” which of course is in the “themes” folder.

All this file does is call the index.php file in the “forums” folder (not “groups”/”single”/”forum”). So I use this line

As I mentioned, this worked at first. It pulled the forums created by groups into a table. But when I changed the “main” url, it gave me the error.

you can visit the url here if you’d like: http://sociallyaffluent.com/sexyafter30/ (this is the main url…it’s a subfolder that holds the site…the “old” url was “sociallyaffluent.com/21andolder”…)

I went to the WP admin panel and in “settings” then “general” and changed the main url…

    okay….thanks for your assistance…

so there aren’t any other files Buddypress uses to connect and save to DB?

ooohhhh…got it…so it’s there in register.php ‘just in case’ I want to do something at that point in the registration process. I got it…

Okay…please forgive my misunderstanding…but then what role does “ play in register.php if it isn’t called by any function in BuddyPress? why is it even there?

“I don’t believe it does anything in BuddyPress itself.”

I’m sorry, I don’t understand what you mean with this line. From my understanding, every action has a function associated with it somewhere in the BuddyPress files. The line `do_action(‘bp_after_signup_profile_fields’)` (in the register.php file), seems like it does something like in the registration process…maybe some sort of an evaluation to make sure the user is ready for the next step…whatever that something is I’m trying to figure it out…

Now, I’m not familiar with “grep” and never used it. You say that it’ll tell me all of the instances of that text. Does that give me the function(s) associated with that action?
