I just got off the phone with LW and they don’t know how much memory is allocated for a shared hosting package. We are looking for a shared host with at least 128mb ram. We are having issues at 64mb trying to upload images with bpgallery. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have checked: […]

@modemlooper Works great. Just 1 issue.
When I link to fb it is linking the comment so it attaches my avatar and a link like ”My Site | jcmartin | Activity”.
The underlying link is correct ”http://mysite.com/activity/p/83/”
It’s the label and avatar that I would like to change.
Can I make changes to have it link the comment content instead o…[Read more]

It’s using the browser title. If you install BuddyPress SEO plugin you can change it. I’m sure there are other ways.

Oh and avatar is a problem as fb pulls in what ever images it finds. Usually its; the nearest image. Check FB docs i think there is meta tags you can add to your header to specify an image but it would be the same image for ever post.

I would like to have my returning users go straight to their profiles. I have a Splash/Login page and new or logged out users can register or login there. I’m good with that. What I need is a plugin to let the returning user who does not need to login go to his/her profile directly. […]

I have found an easy solution, I installed WP network and it ran perfectly right out of the box. The update is great too. You are an asset to the community.
Work is slow here, but I will not forget you when times are better.Thank you so Much!

I am off to find a plugin to redirect returning users AWAY from my splash/landing page. Any suggestions? -

Call to undefined function get_blogaddress_by_id()
Sorry I’m a complete newbi on PHP. But I downloaded a plugin that says its blog #1
I am using wordpress single.
OK, I installed wordpress and BP with a new database on my local PC (Different than Dev site) and I get the same behavior.
No matter what I try I cannot add to that navbar. Is there…[Read more]

OK. Let’s see if we can work through this step by step.
1 – You set up a virgin local dev install
2 – You created a new database
3 – You installed WP3 Single… blog ID = 1
4 – You installed Buddypress (at least 1.2.3)
5 – You installed Add-All-Nav-Links-to-BP-Adminbar pluginLet’s try a menu with WP pages first:
1 – Go to “BP-WP-Navbar”, select…[Read more]-

Ok, the wp_options table has blog_ID as zero in every record. However I downloaded a plugin and it tells me site ID 1.
I don’t know…
Do you?
Thanks

…”What is the situation with 5 menus?”
In WP3, “menu” refers to any specific dropdown menu. Each menu you create in WP3 is a single dropdown menu. In the “Theme Locations” section of “Menus”, you can insert up to 5 of these individual dropdowns in the BP-WP-Navbar: Menu 1 with a bunch of child/grandchild pages, Menu 2 with…Menu 3… and so…[Read more] -

…”I deleted some ajax tables, could that be it?”Possible. You may have inadvertently deleted something the plugin requires to display the menus. Try a fresh install of Buddypress.

1. Yes, bp-columns.
2. I can make menus and put them in widgets… and they work. What is the situation with 5 menus? I get 1 no matter what I do? (Navbar)
3.I am using am .mo language file for a few changes, but those items are among the working.
4. At one point today I stripped down to just BP and put this plugin in first. No change. I…[Read more] -

I have 1 issue you may be able to help me with.
The only links in the navbar are the ”derived” links. Like: http://mydomain/members/user/profile
The static links are missing, http://mydomain/activity, /forums, /members and the root are all missing. Also, the 5 menu locations don’t seem to do anything at all.
I am running the latest versi…[Read more]

Hi JC,
Congrats on 14 years! I’ve logged 8 as of 8/27/10.
As to the plugin:
1 – Are you using a child-theme of bp-default, or a custom theme?
2 – There’s no interference at all with how WP3 custom menus function; the plugin simply calls the menus that already exist. If none have been saved, none will show. Remember to save also when selecting…[Read more]-
