@jeffsayre, I saw that WP 3.0 came out a couple of days ago. How can we help you with BP 1.2.5 so that you can release BP Privacy?

@jeffsayre Hi Jeff
I know there is a forum topic about the Swedish translation here:
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/creating-extending/forum/topic/swedish-translation-done/
But it would be better i the topic was discussed in this group: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/localization/
Is it possible for you to move it? Or should i just…[Read more] -

looks like it will be a few months before it’s finished, but a well needed component.
That & the @jeffsayre upcoming privacy plugin will go a long way towards education sites & many others.-

@jeffsayre Hi Jeff.
I’ve found this plugin (http://wpmu.org/create-a-better-community-experience-with-the-new-buddypress-friends-only-activity-stream-plugin/) to filter non-friend updates from the activity stream. The thing is it also filters own updates and comments on its. Since you’re into privacy in BP and are way better than me in php, would…[Read more]

@jeffsayre Just really quick — I intend to respond to you on the forums — I just have to get to it. :p Really great stuff though. Esp. the differentiation between identity and identifiers — in that light — I often wonder if email addresses are still the best in terms of identifiers — but that’s another topic —

I think the following properly displays the output from bp_get_the_profile_field_options() as an example of when radio-buttons intermittently display incorrectly. Below that I also show a potential fix – although @jeffsayre or another BP-expert may have a better solution. (Thanks @hnla for explanation)

Friend-side of Friend v. Follow, I recall an oldie-but-goodie relationship mapping concept by @jeffsayre :: “the relationships people have with one another on a social network extend beyond the nebulous catchall of ‘friend’ … “ https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/582

@mikepratt @jeffsayre @djpaul and others, I’m glad a conversation got started here. It sure would be good to hear from the powers-that-be about this. I especially like the suggestion about using a new extension such as bp-extension that makes it clear that this is an extension of BuddyPress rather than compatible. Heck, maybe even introduce a…[Read more]

Sorry, only getting back to this now. @jeffsayre or anyone else who might know, I realised the saving to DB only works on the non ajax updates, like creating a new group. If I turn off JS in my browser, the saving to DB does work on previous ajax updates, like updating your status. Any idea […]

@jeffsayre — i trust and get your concern w/ openid. That said, it’s hard to stop a moving train. I just don’t want to completely disregard all the motion going on elsewhere. So call me the healthy skeptic in the room — that should be a good thing, right? It just means that as we move […]

@JeffSayre, maybe that can be handled somehow by BP? Add a hook that will deactivate all the BP plugins and then ask to reactivate them manually by admin?
Also, I suggest changing the subject of the topic, since it’s not relevant and people can get confused (I felt like that after reading it) 😐
Thanks.

How likely is it that you or any of the other developers you’ve been talking with would make a plugin that adds WebID to WordPress in the near future?

Unfortunately, with the new forum setup, there is no current way to move threads from one forum to another. I’m hoping this will be possible in the near future.
Ok, i will start a new thread in localization and point everybody in the old thread to the new one.
