@Henry Wright: What do you mean, “should now find these users?” Did it work differently in the past? I am using the latest 2.7.0 version. On my site, when a user logs in for the first time, their information is searchable and the total number of members at the top is increased by one. If I manually add a last_activity meta_key to a user who has not logged in yet, they are not searchable and they are not included in the total number of members at the top.

I would like some confirmation that this is expected behavior, before I search for a workaround. Otherwise, if someone could confirm that this is not expected behavior, then it might indicate a bug and a ticket can be placed for a possible fix. Thoughts?

    Thanks for your help!

Thank you! I’m sending you an email now… I am using that members-loop.php file, but it does not affect the search function, and it does not affect the member count at the top. These two items are of interest to me.

Thank you for that information! I have seen this question going back 7+ years, so I know that I am not alone in this request. However, I do not know how to program PHP 🙁 Unless someone can provide a bid $$ amount for adding this functionality through a plugin, I will have to either 1) accept the current functionality or, 2) move on to another plugin or platform solution.

It would be nice to have a “pro” version of Buddypress that would have more options.

@bramdehaan, if you go to Users > Profile Fields, then click Edit next to the date field you want to fix, you can select one of the two options in Range and fill in the values you want (this is for the years that will be displayed).
