    You kind of think you guys would have added this by now, since it’s such a popular commenting system. I don’t know how to do what was described, as probably most of the people on here.

    Just seems there’s no ambition for BP to make improvements anymore. Is this correct?

    That worked great @dwsowash ! Thank you!

    Here’s a good example. It’s even worse in a screenshot.

    @imath I heard from Paul you might be the man for this task. I asked my theme to direct me to the hook and they would not. It wouldn’t really matter, I’m too much of a noob to do anything with it.

    However, he said that it’s probably the fact that post_type=post and my lesson templates are post_type=page. If I can get these templates’ comments to show in the activity stream, my quest is complete.

    Thanks,

    Justin

    Oh cool, so if I can find that hook and add the bp_activity_add() the comments from my lessons should show in the Activity Stream?

    Thanks again!

    Thank you @shanebp . Is there a better looking bp comments plugin with some better styling? Also, my theme Optimize Press 2 has custom page layouts for lessons. The only problem, the bp activity stream will not pick up these comments.

    Any thoughts on a solution there?

    Hi @rimon_habib . How’s the tutorial going? Looking forward to seeing it!

    That’s very helpful Henry. Thank you. Is there a tutorial video anywhere? I’m not great with code.

    Still an issue.

    Thanks @danbp . So the page layouts are on github?

    Awesome! I’ll check those out. On another note, do you guys know how they made this BP layout? For example the profile page?

    Thank you for the help!

    All I did was install it and try to activate the forum feature. I’ve been through the settings a thousand times and don’t know what to do.

    Awesome! Looking into this. Thanks.

    Can I get the perspective of a real admin? Or do they not support BP anymore????

    Because there wasn’t a good answer for my question, so i would like the help of one of the developers since my theme is very popular and the developers can probably fix this in a heart beat.

    Your post isn’t the same issue either.

    Thank you @djsteveb. I’ll see if I can contact one of them. Maybe I’ll start a new thread too with the correct heading. Would love to get this resolved.

    Hi @djsteveb . That does sound familiar. I know there’s a setting in the BP panel for user site tracking. However, that’s already on for me.

    Would love to get this connection made and resolved. When was the last BP update?

    Here’s what they said,”The reason is because OP uses custom post type for live editor pages, and is handled a bit differently than normal and the data goes into a different database table, but the underlying issue is that some plugins just don’t look for this type of data so that is why they don’t do anything with it. Kind of a double edge sword here honestly. There are many other plugins that have similar issues where either their styles don’t work on live editor pages, or shortcodes won’t render – among other things, but it is due to how that plugin is designed as the developer didn’t take into account all the possible ways it should look for data.”

    Buddpress is cool, but it’s not worth me having to rework a whole theme for.

    Already checked with them. They say it’s a BP issue. It’s becoming a popular theme. Not sure why it works on their non-live editor pages.

    Okay, so after some more testing, I’ve realized that Disqus does not work here (although it overwrites WP comments when on) and my theme is Optimize Press. Traditional blog posts and pages show in the activity stream when WP comments are used. However, for the better looking page templates, the comments do not show (these are built with their live editor).

    Any thoughts on how to make this type of page work with BuddyPress and the Activity Stream?

    @jrunfitpro

    Participant

    It is, but doesn’t seem to be showing when users comment on posts?

    Do you know if Disqus would work here for comments and site tracking?

    @jrunfitpro

    Participant

    So, which one works for WP or Disqus comments?

    @jrunfitpro

    Thank you Henry!

    Must be some conflict with another plugin. My theme is Optimize Press 2 and that could be it. BBpress definitely overwrote my permalinks (used to be the custom post structure) and it flipped to subject after bbpress installation.
