In reply to: BuddyPress SpamThanks. That moderate-new-blogs plugin is exactly what I was thinking of but couldn’t find anything like it!
In reply to: BuddyPress SpamI spent some time yesterday to try to stop the constant flow of spam users and blogs being created on my site. Here is what I did…
1- deleted extra registration.php in bbpress folder
2- changed reg. slug
3- installed humanity
4- installed Si Captcha
5- added code from above to htaccessI am still get about 20-30 per day.
Is there a way to tell if these are humans or bots creating these accounts and blogs?
I don’t know what else to do, any ideas? ( I really don’t want to disable blog creation during registration)In reply to: BuddyPress SpamI wish new blogs worked like comments, meaning that the first post by a new member has to be approved before the blog is active. Once the first post has been approved the blog would then become active and viewable by the public.
In reply to: BuddyPress SpamO MY GOD, I am so sick of deleting spam blogs! Does anyone know if the new version of BP coming out will have anything built in to prevent these spam blogs?
O my! Now that is more like it

@mercime that plugin would be perfect if it were featured blogs and not posts
Thanks guys, I will have a look through this tonight and see if I can come up with something.
since i know what blog IDs i want to use there has to be a way to limit the loop to only get the specific info for those blogs?
@rogercoathup Is there a way to reuse the same code that is used on the blog directory page? (blog-loop.php) I just realized that page does exactly what I want, almost. Instead of returning every blog, I would only want, say blogs with the id 1, 2, 3 and 4 (my featured blogs).
Or am I wrong on this?
@rogercoathup Thank you! Finally a place to start from! hopefully I can pull this off, I am not a programmer at all.
@pcwriter thanks, I did check the codex but couldn’t find what I was looking for
i still can’t find what I am looking for, can anyone assist?

In reply to: Achievements Achievements Achievementsafter reading his blog, I’m impressed, this sounds way better than expected!
In reply to: Achievements Achievements AchievementsI was just about to post and say I had found a previous post by you saying the release date, but you beat me to it.
I am excited about this plugin, I will check out that site!
Thanks!!!
In reply to: Achievements Achievements Achievements@DJPaul a few months ago you were talking about updating the Achievements plugin, just wondering if you still have plans to do so?
Also, I remember others talking about a similar reward system but I can’t seem to find it.
In reply to: Analytics kills Dashboard with Blank pageWhen viewing on google analytics it give me the stats across all blogs, but it just says /pagename for all the page views etc. Can’t really tell what blog its coming from.
Is there a better way to view stats (doesnt have to be GA)? GA’s documentation says I can use an “advanced filter” to view the full path, but it seems really confusing.
In reply to: WPMU + BP + Robots.txt + ???Thanks.
In reply to: WPMU + BP + Robots.txt + ???ne1?
In reply to: Analytics kills Dashboard with Blank pageYup, works great across all blogs. Also, when I signed up for GA account it had an option specifically for sub-domains, which generated a slightly different script than the one in the example.
In reply to: Analytics kills Dashboard with Blank pageI am looking to install GA on the main blog as well as all other sub blogs. Is the above method still the best way to do this? This was posted a few months ago so I wanted to double check. Thanks.
In reply to: Changed admin username ???create a user, give him super admin privileges (site admin -> options -> site admins, test this is working, then delete admin out of database tbl wp_users.
In reply to: Changed admin username ???I deactivated all plugins, which got rid of the /?c=1 but still no super admin access
