true… good point… I guess you are both right in that regard.
It was maybe just that the contrast between the wealth of free plugins available at WordPress and the modest amount here at Buddypress.

And next to that: I am actually very happy to pay for great software, the problem is only that with some of the premium sites you first have to pay before you can even test if you like what they have to offer. But I guess it isn’t possible to code a plugin in a way that it expires after sometime of being used…

well. I meant a little of both ;)
On buddypress.org I can;t find one, and for my own site the plugin mentioned above states: “This plugin is still not released and it’s part of my Google Summer of Code 2010 project. Follow the plugin group on buddypress.org for updates on development.”

Found the cullprit; the ‘SI Captcha’ plugin was preventing it because of a wrong set file permission.
Check the plugin settings page and it will say what is wrong.

    Hey @DJPaul,

Really like your pluging and using it on my site right now.
But it doesn’t automatically add users to a group; it invites them to join a group.

    Or did I miss something?

    Thnx!

Any news on how this rather importing part of the Buddypress world is evolving?
Jet Events has an update every fortnight these days and seems also to become better and better al the time.
    Still… It doesn’t yet meet my needs…
RSVP options would be great, and also a way for people to react (or like) on an event.

also: can you add a flood-prevention so that, lets say, users can post only with a 10second interval or something?

ok… if someone has an answer to this; would be great for further reverence.
I had to resort to deleting everything and start all over…

With me registration doesn;t work. After filling in the form and clicking ‘continue’ people just get redirected to the same, now empty again, form.
The page where they can choose the Avatar never showes up…

same problem with me… would love to have a solution for this.
Did any of you found a solution for this?

Also look for a decent group calender. Preferably where users can add events from the front-end.
So far I use Jet Events: http://jes.milordk.ru/
It works well, but has some limitations and doesn’t support Spanish localisation which I need and doesn’t allow for inviting other members to an event which I would find a really nifty feature!
