hi neononcon,
it’s been a month since last reply but may i add my opinion here..
study carefully first about the features of BuddyPress (as well as other social tools) before u really implements it on your working site. yes, there are options to disable forum, if you don’t really want to use it. BuddyPress, forum, twitter, or FaceBook connect are great tools to communicate with site audience. install them all and your site will look perfect, but it can be overwhelming and time consuming to reply all questions here and there. technology evolves way much faster than good documentationsdear Charly, and other noobs like me.. mind this:
1. upgrading wordpress version with non wordpress-standard theme on it is bad.
2. upgrading wordpress version with non wordpress-standard theme which has it’s own widgets on it is worse, you need to rearrange module’s positions.
3. upgrading wordpress version with non wordpress-standard theme on it AND you have buddypress on it is even worse, see by yourself if you dare.
4. upgrading wordpress version with non wordpress-standard theme which has it’s own widgets on it AND you have buddypress on it with buddypress skin is the worst, makes u want to stop using wordpress anymore.. ever!well, wordpress is good, but a noob is a noob. i messed up my site because of it, lol..
hi slushman,
try to login from admin link, not from main page. if u login from homepage, you’ll be treated like ordinary user, no admin dashboard will appears.
i have the same problem.. also with JetPack sending me to homepage again, nothing seems to happen and i still got the “Your Jetpack is almost ready – Connect to WordPress.com to enable all features. Connect to WordPress.com” message.
i don’t feel like it’s a bug though, maybe there’s something that we miss
i’m still figure out what i missed, that’s what makes me land on your post here.
