    Yes. Those are exactly it. I tried to delete them when attempting to customize the emails, but had a warning.

    I really would like none of those brackets to show up on email notifications. Is there a way to remove them safely? There should just be the site name showing.

    Thanks so much for letting me know.

    Thank you so much for responding. I am not hugely comfortable with the code. But can trace and make changes if I know where to go. Would be able to let me know where to look?

    I have contacted my theme author and they said they would look into it. It could take a long time though 🙁

    Thank you so much for your help.

    The warning appears at the top of the page, where the menu bar is, right under the notification tab. I am not sure if there is a notification page that can be seen either with content or blank.

    Does this help? I really would like to find a solution to this. Thank you so much for helping.

    I have the latest version of bbpress, but still get a notification warning. Could you please help?

    Thank you so much.

    It could be both front end and back end, to avoid getting hacked or have your site compromised. Also making sure that there are no security holes in the site. There are various plugins, such as bulletproof security, etc. I personally feel lost when it comes to this area :(

    Appears nowhere!!

    I have tried creating a new multisite test site, fresh, without ‘enable multisite’ and without the theme I was using before. Latest version of WordPress, Latest version of Buddypress, Firefox browser… The settings for ‘welcome pack’ remains invisible :(

    Thank you Paul, but I have no links under ‘settings’ after or before installing ‘welcome pack’ plugin. I am using multisite and looking at Network Admin page.

    To create my multisite, I have used ‘Enable Multisite’ plugin. Could that be a limiting factor?

    Still pondering with this. Would you have a little plugin, or a simpler solution for this please? I do not seem to fully understand and adopt the above solution :(

    Thank you so much;

    Ok. It’s definitely BP 1.2.9 causing the avatar upload at registration.

    I downgraded to 1.2.8 and it works. Not sure what I will be missing, not upgrading to 1.2.9. But for now, keeping 1.2.8!

    Thank you so much guys for solutions.

    1) How can I downgrade to BP 1.2.8?

    2) And would that be OK? Won’t we miss on some other improvements in BP 1.2.9?

    Thank you so much for your response.

    Yes, I am using the latest version of WordPress, the latest version of Buddypress, and latest version of Suffusion theme. There was no problem a while ago, but now the avatar does not upload on the first page even though it shows successful avatar upload :(

    I truly appreciate your help.

    OK, I had this plugin installed; BuddyPress xProfiles ACL and found out that it was conflicting with the “edit profile” link.

    I disabled it and it now works fine. See if that may be the case for you.

    Best;

    I also have the exact problem. This is the page I get!
    ………………………………………….
    The page isn’t redirecting properly
    Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
    This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.
    ……………………………….

    Can you please help?
    Thanks so much.

    Thank you Rich:
    I have used “registered user only” plugin for the site. It works OK. But apparently the member’s activity page still shows in Google cache and I can’t make that disappear even when I delete that user’s profile :(

    Hi John:

    My fault. Sorry.

    This time, I deleted the user account under “site admin” and it worked.

    It erased the user account in BP.

    All Cool. Thanks so much.

    Thanks so much John for responding.

    From the dashboard in the admin area of WordPress MU. I go to “users”, then when I get the list of the users, I delete one. Back into Buddypress, I still get the member among the member list.

    Still confused :(

    @lifemore

    I am also very very interested in a wiki plugin for buddypress.

    Instinct Entertainment (http://wp-wiki.org/) has produced a nice plugin, but it does not function fully in posts and pages. However, it’s really simple and nice.

    Thanks Nicola for your update on this.
