@pcwriter. sorry to keep hounding you. lol. Any ideas on the above issues? I’m willing to donate if you can give me a fix. My site is live and I’ll have to deactivate the plugin if I can’t fix them. The subdomain issue is the more important issue for me. Please let me know either way. […]

The ability to attach a flier would be nice. Also, the ability to sync events into Facebooks via API or something, if that possible?

@pcwriter As you probably know I’m using WordPress MU and I just noticed that when I’m in one the subdomains the default ”community” drop down links navigates to the subdomains instead of the main blog. So for example it goes to http://subdomain.site.com/blogs/ instead of http://site.com/blogs/ . This means that users can’t navigate to thier blo…[Read more]

@pcwriter Thanks, its been a long road to get to this point with it. lol. Also, I really appreciate the help. The only issue is I added the code and I can use the horizontal offset now in the plugin but it doesn’t really accomplish what I am looking for. I was hoping to use text-align: […]

@pcwriter Great plugin. I have two quick questions. I have a custom theme and I’m having problems centering the admin bar. I have not problems with the vertical just the horizontal. I tried the php above which helped but it keeps the first link to the left side of the theme. Ideally I would have the […]

@vee_bee thanks, Just so I’m clear, this will get the activity feed on facebook to work with the plugin? I wasn’t sure if I was clear before but what I need is when someone logs in to my site with the WP-FB plugin, it will say “user x” joined “example site” on their facebook activity feed? Right?
Thanks

Hi Mark.
I havent updated this plugin – so this is what I did more than 6 months ago.
Towards the bottom of _process_login.php I added
$userlink = bp_core_get_userlink( $user_login_id );
bp_activity_add( array(
‘user_id’ => $user_login_id,
‘action’ => apply_filters( ‘bp_core_activity_registered_member_action’, sprintf( __( ‘%s…[Read more]

@rogercoathup no I didn’t change the slug or the default text. I’m not a developer and wasn’t 100% sure how to change the slug. I looked at the wp-config.php but it looks a lot different than Andy’s example on BP org I read. Would I change it under wp-config still? Andy’s posting is from 09. I […]

FYI, I deleted the register.php file in bbpress last night and I had another 7 spam accounts in the morning so that didn’t work for me. I then installed humanity this morning and I’m using it with the si captcha plugin and the two combined seem to be ok so far. I’ll keep you guys […]

@DJpaul, @hnla Thanks for the feedback. I agree the username would probably be appropriate, but I’m guessing a lot of webmasters like myself would like to be able to edit it to be seo friendly for their site even though alt attributes might not be originally designed for that purpose. It is very common for webmasters who […]

@DJPaul Hi Paul, i hope all is going great. My acitvity feed is set as my home page and I noticed under my google webmaster tools that “Avatar” is now the keyword google sees the most. Is there any harm in changing the Alt tags in the urls to = something seo friendly instead of alt […]

@DJPaul Hey Paul,
You’ve been very helpful in the past si i figure I’d bother you with one more quick question..hopefully. lol. I’m running BP 1.2.5 and WPMU 2.9.2 and I’m running subdomains not sub-directories. My problem is that user can’t create blogs 100%. When they create a blog it shows up in the blogs section but when you click on the…[Read more]

It sounds as if your problem is a webserver configuration problem; you’d have the same issue if you just run WPMU without BuddyPress. You are probably best off contacting your host to ask for support configuring the server for WPMU.
