@robsimm the code you posted in pastebin.com shows you didn’t make any changes to the BP template files to make it compatible with your CStar theme. Cool. D
Based on the premise above, create a new file named buddypress.php and post the code found at http://pastebin.com/5uzN2S8a Save file and upload to your theme folder in server.

@hugodisasters
– Change to Twenty Twelve theme and check the BP pages if has at least some styles applied.
– View source code of site to check if the files I mentioned above are in source. If yes to both, then something’s blocking BP from enqueueing BP’s JS and CSS files in your deTube theme. Check theme’s functions.php file if there’s…[Read more]

@pssawhney you could post at http://jpbs.wordpress.net/ if you have the budget to hire a developer.
If you have no budget but would have to create the site all by youself, then post at the bbPress.org forums, in the WordPress.org forums and here of course. Do post specific questions per topic i.e., do not cram all your issues in one topic. That…[Read more]

Is there some default CSS i can get anywhere just to style up my community in a default way as i’ve no styles currently set in my theme for BuddyPress?
Strange. BP Theme Compatibility enqueues buddypress.css and buddypress.js – can you check in source code if you can see reference to both? What theme are you using?

do I have to configure a wildcard for my websites
You only need to configure wildcard if you created a network (multisite) with subdomain structure/mode e.g. http://community.example.com . Looking at your example above with subsite example.com/community in subdirectory mode, so no.
You don’t want both http://www.example.com and http://example.com to…[Read more]

@mercime replied to the topic Missing Directories in the forum Installing BuddyPress 11 years, 4 months ago
@brandonecarr in previous BP versions, all components were activated by default. Starting BP 1.7 onwards, the only active components by default when you activate BuddyPress are Members (with Extended Profiles) and Activity Streams.
Go to Settings > BuddyPress > Components and activate the other components you want in your installation.

@mercime replied to the topic Changing themes in the forum Creating & Extending 11 years, 4 months ago
@pssawhney ideally one should be able to change themes without any major issues. That’s why themes in the WordPress Theme Repository must not include shortcodes nor custom post types, etc. And it looks like Envato’s Themeforest is going to require that for incoming premium themes…[Read more]

@hugodisasters Not familiar with the theme you’re using but based on the image alone, looks like buddypress.css and buddypress.js which are enqueued by the plugin are missing. I suggest checking in your premium theme’s forums for similar issues or try reuploading BuddyPress plugin folder manually (FTP,etc).

@mercime replied to the topic Page title and CSS issues in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 11 years, 4 months ago
@brunodavid some premium WP themes have proprietary templating systems which prevent BP automagically inserting BP component parts into the_title and the_content of the theme’s page.php.
We don’t have access to the premium theme, but what has worked with others copying your theme’s page.php file and save it as buddypress.php then open up…[Read more]

re #3 – that’s only relevant if you go to second link I posted above – used only when you want the different BuddyPress components to have different layouts.
As I pointed above, use first link where you only have to create one file, buddypress.php and your theme developer would be the one who could assist you there as they know their premium…[Read more]

Am I supposed to create a child theme?
@zerosit Since that is a premium theme, I have no idea whether you could set up a child theme with it. There are themes which are not set up properly for child themes. You should contact theme developer about that.
I gave you two links above. If you want to have the same layout for all BuddyPress pages in…[Read more]

@rayela open up your own text editor – NotePad on PC or TextMate on Mac.
– File > New
– Add the content per what I posted above
– File > Save As – bp-custom.php (note select All Files in dropdown)
– Upload bp-custom.php via FTP/cpanel to where I noted it above -
