My traffic isn’t that high at this time so it shouldn’t be an issue with traffic spikes. I’ve increased the memory limit in the wp-config.php file by […]

Tagged a new version that hopefully corrects things – at least it corrects an issue I found with manner in which I was passing variable data around – still not 100% sure why it worked on two original but different installs so suspect there may still be issues I’ve overlooked.

@mercime thanks for the feedback as presently I have none of these issues and although haven’t tested massively did test on an older version of BP & WP quickly and all was well, it’s a little worrying as this was intended – hopefully – to be a straight forward plugin with little that ought to break. @mercime, I agree with everything you say. I’ve installed and tested the BPtemplate pack, as well as others, and experimented with theming. I’m looking forward to find good examples of sites using BP as a cityguide. I’ve designed a concept that uses the elements outlined in the original post. Therefore, maybe some readers have experience with […]

You’re welcom. You will see the line numbers in the link to the trac I posted https://trac.buddypress.org/browser/tags/1.2.6/bp-themes/bp-default/sidebar.php
Compare the codes you see within the lines I gave with the sidebar.php you copied from bp-default to your child theme so you could see what to delete.
Since you’re new to BP, I will suggest…[Read more]

johnny, deletion of the code in sidebar does not delete registration form which is at buddypress/themes/bp-default/registration/register.php
well registration forms there but its redirecting back to welcome page,
why oh why,???
Deactivate the sliding login panel plugin.
http://yoursiteURL.com/register/ is where the link in the sidebar form you deleted goes to, so check registration from there. If this works, then it’s the login plugin that’s messing with the redirects.
