@mercime Basically the build of BuddyPress software on this website is pretty old. It has a bug where it doesn’t check for missing closing tags. As I have admin permission on the site, I went in and edited the post and corrected the markup. Don’t worry, this bug was fixed in the release versions of BuddyPress […]

Thanks! “FunkyBuddy” is serious fun! π
I was rummaging through some backgrounds and, when I found that one, well, it was Studio54 time all over again (he says, flashing back to 1978). I just HAD to use it for something! -

@bigjimmysisco – Please try the amended code; I was typing on the fly and forgot to end the conditional statement!
The function_exists() conditional is important because if you ever upgrade BP Template Pack, you’ll get an error.

@mercime – Yeah, I’m looking forward to the release as well π

@mercime, I haven’t pinpointed the exact piece of code that triggers it to do this. This is not just an issue with the buddypress forums as other forum software have this issue also, thats why most of them have syntax highlighting for code whenever the code tags are inserted, as syntax highlighting safely puts code inside […]

yes @mercime i understand that, but the point is not that it didn’t work with me at first, the point is why it is a feature here on the budypress site and not easily available on the core package/theme, so here they think its a good feature, but on all the other budypress sites its not, […]

@mercime Thanks!
You are correct, I could remove the content slider, however I need a widget to replace it that does what I want. I want posts to be displayed as they are on a normal blog (such as http://www.brobible.com) Not just the little previews as I have it now.

Savannah Video Central posted on the forum topic Remove the "DashBoard" from the adminbar in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years, 9 months ago
@mercime The tags are not needed in bp-custom.php because “unexpected “<" is referring to the tags, "unexpected" means there is an error in the code of where of it simply shouldn't be there. (tested, removed tags solved parse error) Maybe I have the special bp-custom.php, but from my understanding you only need opening tags is of…

Savannah Video Central posted on the forum topic Remove the "DashBoard" from the adminbar in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 14 years, 9 months ago
@mercime, remember if you put this in bp-custom.php you need to remove the beginning php tag, and the end tag because it will cause a parse error: unexpected “<" error.

I gave a plugin solution in your other update which would be much easier for you to implement. Try it out.
In that WP.org solution, you just replace http://example.com/ with your URL of choice and you have to choose that template in Page Write panel before you publish the page. Note that HTML structure in example could very…[Read more]

@mercime seem to have solved the styling of forums in p2 1.2.1 with buddy 1.2.7.
self inflicted – had my own class named “forum” in the style sheet – how stupid can one man be.
2 glitches remain
1)Keyboard Shortcuts somehow has been disabled.
2)the “Add Friend” styling in Members needs adjustment.Any ideas wecome
