heyshamsw You will need to change 16 template files within the 6 BP folders transferred to your thematic child theme folder in server during the compatibility process.
If you’ve previously changed any of the BP template files in your theme folder, replace all of them for a clean slate by deleting the 6 BP folders in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility.
Download the 6 clean BP folders to your computer hard drive.
A. At the top of each of those 16 template files I linked to above, replace
``with
`<?php
// calling the header.php
get_header();
// action hook for placing content above #container
thematic_abovecontainer();
?><?php
// calling the widget area ‘page-top’
get_sidebar(‘page-top’);
the_post();
thematic_abovepost();
?>`== Is there a way to subscribe getting an email post each time somebody responds? ==
@jamesmcbennett Not at this time.
== Below are codes as asked for. ==
Checked the code and you have two options
a) Create two files, header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php, add some code and upload to your theme folder in server and you’re done.
– Con: your BP page titles will be within content area and not how it appears per product page.
– Pro: When BP is upgraded, no worries about upgrading the two files. Only need to check files when your WP theme is upgraded.b) Change 16 BP template files where changes to top and bottom areas are the same except for register.php. In this set up, you would have to change each template file’s page title containers yourself.
– Con: You would have to revise 16 template files each time BP/BP template pack plugin is upgraded
– Pro: You could have your page titles in BP pages looking like the rest of the site’s page titles.I would opt for a) but it’s up to you, a) or b) ?
@heyshamsw we can only try our best to resolve such issues.
So what method did you try to use to make your theme compatible with BuddyPress, the first method which changes 16 template files or the second method with the xxx-buddypress.php files? https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
To help you evaluate which method is good for your WP theme, open up your theme’s header.php, copy code, paste code in pastebin.com, click submit, and post the generated pastebin.com uri here. Do the same thing for index.php, page.php, sidebar.php and footer.php.
Site URI with said thematic child theme would be helpful as well.
B. At the bottom of the same 16 files, replace:

with the following for registration/register.php:
`jQuery(document).ready( function() {

jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).toggle();
jQuery( ‘input#signup_with_blog’ ).click( function() {
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).fadeOut().toggle();
});
});`
C. Save files. Upload 6 BP folders to your server wp-content/themes/mantra/

Ok, I didn’t see that sidebar with the analog clock earlier on the registration page.
You will need to change 16 template files within the 6 BP folders transferred to your weaver theme in server during the compatibility process.
If you’ve changed any of the BP template files in your theme folder, replace all of them by deleting the 6 BP folders in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility

A. At the top of each of those 16 template files I linked to above, replace

`<div id="post-” class=”hentry”>`Deactivate BP Template Pack plugin by renaming folder in wp-content/plugins/bp-template-pack to something like bp-template-pack-xx”
BP Corporate theme, if it’s the same theme I’m thinking of, does not need and/or would have conflict with BP Template Pack. Please contact theme developer to confirm.
In reply to: cant post in sitewide forumsHave you tried to change bp-default theme?

Marking this as resolved then.@egehlhaar looks like you’ve fixed the sidebar issue. I see the sidebar in the right location in your register page.
In reply to: Is buddy press compatible with WordPress 3.3.1?BP 1.5.4 is compatible with WP 3.3.1
Blank pages – https://codex.buddypress.org/troubleshooting/blank-pages/
In reply to: [Resolved] Activate and Register Page SetupYou can still go to dashboard menu BuddyPress > Pages and select the name of the page you want your registration page to be. Then Save.
In reply to: HELP!! Type in text is invisible and custom members== The text in the buddypress shows invisible in the text box plus theres no enter button ==
That doesn’t happen with bp-default theme. What theme are you using? Have you contacted theme developer?
In reply to: Responsive theme issuesYou can use some or all of the style modifications done with BP Twenty Ten and add those to your theme’s style.css file https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/
== I’m supposed to do is copy and paste the code onto the very end of my style.css, right? ==
Yes. I checked your theme’s style.css file and the style modifications are not there.
In reply to: How to enable registeringGo to Settings > General > Membership and check Anyone can register box
In reply to: [Resolved] Activate and Register Page SetupMaking Evolution theme compatible with BuddyPress was resolved at https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/sidebar-in-buddypress-pages-not-aligning-correctly/
In reply to: Network: Can’t create new sites (page not found)The issue could be a theme-specific one. After creating a network and installing BP, you should change to bp-default theme to make sure that BP components are working before using a custom BuddyPress theme. If issue is corrected after changing to bp-default theme, then you should post at theme developers’ site or check out latest theme version in github https://github.com/Themekraft/Custom-Community
In reply to: Editing Profile Page Layout== “I created a new child theme and referenced the bp-default theme, and transferred all my original theme files to the new child theme folder.” ==
However, you also mentioned before that that you have WP theme with BP template pack. So for a sanity check –
a) What do you mean by “referenced the bp-default theme”?
b) if you created a child theme of your custom WP theme, then yes you need to activate BP Template Pack and go through the BP compatibility process.
c) if you create a child theme of bp-default theme, then yes, you need to reference/add “Template:bp-default” in your stylesheet but you should not use the BP Template Pack plugin
== … BP-specific pages, such as the profile page. I need to edit the template … ==
– For WP Theme with BP Template Pack scenario – you would find the main profile template within your WP theme folder in server at wp-content/themes/myCustomWPtheme/members/single/profile.php
– For child theme of bp-default theme – copy over members/single/profile.php and/or specific profile loop/content from bp-default theme into your child theme following the folder structure
In reply to: Login sidebar wierd behaviourThe Custom Community theme devs have a forum where you can post this issue and find resolution asap. You might want to check out FAQ’s first before posting at their forums http://themekraft.com/custom-community/
In reply to: How do you create groups?!?!You shouldn’t have to create any subpage at all.
If you’re using a WordPress theme which doesn’t include BuddyPress templates, you need to install and activate BP Template Pack plugin and go through the BP Compatibility process which will transfer all the required templates, CSS and JS needed to your active WP theme folder.
In reply to: [Resolved] Weaver theme and BuddyPress alignmentNot quite, but thanks
Marking this as resolved then.In reply to: Responsive theme issuesI won’t be able to see the post button because I’m not logged in. Do provide test user account (post username and password here) which you could later delete after this issue is resolved.
Also, I believe there are missing divs because the BP content doesn’t have a white background as it should have had if the BP compatibility process in Step 3 was done correctly. To better address the issue, open up your construct theme’s header.php, copy code, paste in pastebin.com, click submit, and post the generated uri here. Do the same for index.php, page.php, sidebar.php, and footer.php
