Save file.
B. Copy sidebar.php and Save As > sidebar-buddypress.php
Open up sidebar-buddypress.php and at the top of the file, above all other code, add this:
`
== but it worked fine until I went to change the slugs on the bbpress settings page ==
After you changed the slugs in bbPress settings page, did you change the slug/name of your bbPress forums in your custom menu.
It’s possible. You’d need some custom plugins though, especially for “a site which can match memebers based on certain criteria.” Custom plugins == you have to code it or hire a developer to do so.
Did you back up your database before upgrading to newer WP/BP versions? You need your database backup to revert back to old version ASAP.
From what old WP/BP versions did you upgrade to what new WP/BP versions?
Go to Appearance > BP Compatibility and enable CSS and JS i.e., do not check the boxes to disable BP Template Pack’s CSS and JS.
You can use Firebug, a Firefox add-on, or use Chrome and right click to Inspect Element, to help you identify which style you need to modify. Or you can post site url.
Why do you have the code to BP’s members/index.php as the index.php of your theme in pastebin.com? I suggest you re-upload your boulevard theme files again, just in case.
If you’ve tried to revise the BP template files transferred to your boulevard theme folder during the compatibility process, I suggest you delete those 6 folders from your theme folder. Then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again just to make sure you have clean template files.
Looks like you only need to create two files and upload it to your boulevard theme folder in server.
A. Copy header.php and Save As > header-buddypress.php.
Open up header-buddypress.php and at the bottom of the file, below all other code, add this:
`
Save file.
B. Copy sidebar.php and Save As > sidebar-buddypress.php
Open up sidebar-buddypress.php and at the top of the file, above all other code, add this:
`
`
At the bottom of the same file, below all other code, add this:
`
jQuery(document).ready( function() {
if ( jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).length && !jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).hasClass(‘show’) )
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).toggle();
jQuery( ‘input#signup_with_blog’ ).click( function() {
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).fadeOut().toggle();
});
});
`
Save file.
C. Upload header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to wp-content/themes/boulevard
D. Style modifications for BP templates – you might want to use some or all of styles listed in this page https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/
Standard BuddyPress is what you see at http://testbp.org/ and not quite sure why you’re referring to the Twenty Ten and Template Pack plugin integration.
Could be many reasons why the new styles are not being rendered in your site. Site URL?
Read how you can increase memory limits https://codex.buddypress.org/troubleshooting/blank-pages/
What theme are you using? Is your custom theme a child theme of bp-default theme or a stand-alone BuddyPress theme?
You’re welcome. And, you are right, my bad. I’ve corrected the code above. Do add the less than symbol “
@djpaul @hnla don’t want geeks to cry, found this http://thereisnoeasterbunny.com/
There’s also a premium plugin that works very well http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-gallery/
B. At the bottom of the same 16 files, replace:
`
`
with the following (except for registration/register.php):
`
`
with the following for registration/register.php:
`
jQuery(document).ready( function() {
if ( jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).length && !jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).hasClass(‘show’) )
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).toggle();
jQuery( ‘input#signup_with_blog’ ).click( function() {
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).fadeOut().toggle();
});
});
`
C. Save files. Upload 6 BP folders to your server wp-content/themes/duotiveThemeFolder
D. You might also want to check out the style modifications made in BP Twenty Ten for reference. https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/
Looking over your theme, you will need to change 16 template files within the 6 BP folders transferred to your duotive theme in server during the compatibility process.
If you’ve changed any of the BP template files in your theme folder, replace all of them by deleting the 6 BP folders in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility
Download the 6 clean BP folders to your computer hard drive. The changes we’ll be making are using the default layout (right sidebar) for the duotive theme.
A. At the top of each of those 16 template files I linked to above, replace
`
with
`
Thank you for pointing out which duotive theme you are using.
>> I do not want to change the duotive theme.
I’m not saying to change your theme. I should have been more clear, the content in page.php shows that it’s a Page Template for a Full Width Page (no sidebar). The content in index.php shows it has a sidebar. Which layout do you want for all BuddyPress templates, the full-width page or the one with a sidebar? If you want the layout with the sidebar (per index.php), post the code of loop.php file from your theme.
Change to bp-default theme and deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress plugin. Then enable forums for each group via that group’s > Admin panel https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/4/#forums-faqs
Plugin Groups – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-group-reviews/
You do not modify your theme’s page.php file at all. What theme are you using?
Also, page.php has a full-width layout, is this the layout you want for all the BP template files?
You’re talking about Step 3 then.
There are two methods to make your WP theme compatible with BuddyPress, what you choose will depend on the current HTML structure of your WP theme:
A. First method – changing 16 BP template files transferred to your WP theme folder during the BP compatibility process
— Example using Motion theme: https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/bp-template-pack-walkthrough-level-easy-2/
B. Second method – creating header-buddypress.php, sidebar-buddypress.php and/or footer-buddypress.php and adding to your WP theme folder which already contains the BP template folders after compatibility process.
— Example using Twenty Ten: https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/
— Example using Twenty Eleven: https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-eleven-bp-1-5/
All themes can use First Method but only some themes can use Second Method.
If you need assistance in analyzing if you can use the Second Method for your theme, please post codes of your theme’s header.php, sidebar.php, index.php, page.php, and footer.php in respective pastebin.com pages.

All of your revised BP page templates (except “Register” and “Activate”) are laid out correctly from IE 6 to IE 9 per test site link you gave in first post. Double-checked this in my computer as well as the online IE simulator at http://netrenderer.com/index.php
Download /registration/register.php and /registration/activate.php from your server and double-check that the layout has been updated per instructions given above. Reminder: there’s an extra script required for /registration/register.php file as I noted above.
BP Template Pack plugin does not work if BuddyPress is not installed and activated first. I had assumed you had done so before.
To fix alignment of BP template files to fit your theme’s HTML structure, open up your theme’s header.php, copy code, paste code in pastebin.com, click submit and post the generated pastebin irl here. Do the same for your index.php, page.php, sidebar.php and footer.php

It’s not a common error. Something went wrong with the installation of your group forums or a conflict with some plugin or theme.
>>> Also, in the “Forums for Groups” section of the admin, when I select “Use existing installation” it asks for the location of the bb-config.
Did you just upgrade your BP site? Did you set up your groups forum in your old installation? If so, what Archive slug did you use for your sitewide forums?
If this is a new installation and it’s the first time you’re going to install the Forums for Groups, choose “Install Group Forums”
