In reply to: BP Compatibility Trouble
Open up your WP theme’s page.php with text editor.
Copy what’s in it and paste the code at http://pastebin.com and click on “submit” link.
That webpage will now have a new URI. Copy that URI and paste it here.In reply to: My “About” pageAre you using a child theme of bp-default or a WordPress theme with BP template pack plugin activated?
You’re welcome
In reply to: Can’t get to BP from WP@boonebgorges I agree with you. Fortunately, new version of Platform theme (1.3) has been submitted in WP theme review queue and author has removed “buddypress” tag when I checked it. I guess he “heard” you
In reply to: [Resolved] Sidebar widgets not showing in item navTo troubleshoot, deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and change to bp-default theme. You will note that sidebar widgets will not disappear when you move from one BP component to the other. Then activate fishbook theme, then plugins one at a time to determine what is causing erratic behavior in your site.
In reply to: bbpress forums / sidebar. Need Help Please! 🙂@jonobradley two points mainly:
1. Platform theme should not have been tagged buddypress at all. I agree with Boone – https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/cant-get-to-bp-from-wp/#post-100830
2. As to the HTML part. Since you want to use that theme, you would have to check theme’s
– header.php (from up to what HTML tag is covered by this file) and
– footer.php ( from what HTML tag to closing is covered by this file) then
– look at source code of your site online, copy it and delete HTML covered by header.php then delete HTML covered by footer.php
– delete content area and what remains is the markup you will be using to impose on BP template pack files transferred to your active WP theme folder in server.Since theme author has deigned to tag his theme as “buddypress” he should provide documentation on how it could truly be BuddyPress-compatible.
In reply to: BP Compatibility Troublehnla, you should see the other post where it took me 25+minutes
In reply to: Template File For Single Activity?Template file – https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.2.8/bp-themes/bp-default/members/single/activity/permalink.php
EDIT – pcwriter, didn’t see you there. Bad habit of mine to take phone calls and chatting first before answering forum post
In reply to: Edit user posts in groups? Buddypress== how do you edit a post created by a member in buddypress groups ==
Could you be more specific? Like are you using a group blog plugin (u mentioned groups above) or are you referring to just a regular post in main site or another blog in your install?
In reply to: [Resolved] Sidebar widgets not showing in item navHaven’t seen sidebar widgets disappear when I last tested Fishbook. Site URI?
In reply to: BP Compatibility TroubleLooks like you’re missed adding another div and/or closed one too early. Post your page.php/index.php file at pastebin.com and post the URI generated here.
EDIT – hey hnla, didn’t see you there. i took too long a time to answer

`
//your div.madeUpDiv here
`
Not clear whether you answered DJPaul – Did you look inside your wp-content/uploads/ folder to see if the images are being saved?
Deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and change to bp-default theme, clear cache. Check if avatars show up in front end. If not, upload avatar and see if it was properly uploaded in server –> wp-content/uploads/
In reply to: How do I use bbPresses Plugins???In reply to: Problem with my FooterIt’s hard to tell, the information you provided is not enough to go on. Site URI would be helpful.
What do you mean by right div doesn’t stay aligned with left and center divs? You mean it’s dropped down below the horizontal level of the two? While div#info has 100% width, the width of the div containing div#info may just not be wide enough to accomodate the right div.
You’re welcome
In reply to: Buddypress pages mess up my themeSo I see you installed the BP Template Pack plugin.
You still need to go through the compatibility process as seen here https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
An example of how this is done https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/bp-template-pack-walkthrough-level-easy-2/
Used Firebug as well – add `overflow: hidden;` to `#main .xoxo` in stylesheet
@adamzfun You’re welcome and welcome to BuddyPress
In reply to: Half and Half (normal Wp and BP)== if i can keep my front end of wordpress the same as usual ==
Sure you can. Install the BP Template Pack plugin – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-template-pack/
This is the process you will go through – https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
Sample walkthrough – https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/bp-template-pack-walkthrough-level-easy-2/Change theme to bp-default theme – see if same behavior repeats or not.
Such errors occur when you’re still running on PHP4. Many plugins (and upcoming WP 3.2) require PHP 5 and above
In reply to: Narrow height subnav in activity stream@LPH2005 you have two #subnav in your page – the red one and the BP subnav which inherited width of 970px. Recommend changing div ID of the red navigation bar to get HTML markup validation.
On the BP subnav which is called in your stylesheet as div#subnav.item-list-tabs, you would need to change `minimum-height:35px` to `height: 25px` like the red navigation bar.
In reply to: Desperately need help creating full width pages! In reply to: Can’t add friendsWP/BP versions? Have you tried deactivating plugins except BuddyPress and changing to bp-default theme?
