I am also interested in this! At minimum, some sort of share plugin recommendation…

    Yes! Good question.

@rsib2000 Could this jquery conflict only show up in certain OS’s? I’m having no problems cropping or updating my avatar (Win 7, Chrome 11.0.696.68/IE8/FF4.0.1), but folks with OSX (they’ve tried it with FF, Chrome, and Safari) can’t. From what I know of js, this shouldn’t be an issue. Any insights?

Along these lines, do people seam to prefer wpmudev over buddydev?

I’m also looking for this exact solution. But in the meantime, I’m thinking about using 3 separate installs: The “main” page would be a normal WP install that would highlight activity from two buddypress blogs (members wouldn’t sign in here). The two separate installs would be BP installations (my group wants distinct styling for each of these BP installations): all I want to do is share users and login credentials between the two BP installations.

Ok, figured it out (for me at least). I created a public group called “Forum For All” (name it whatever you wish) and I was able to post a forum topic using the global forums link. I take it the global forums link looks for all public groups and finds the topics in those groups. So, if you have multiple public groups, you can choose which forum to post to. But then again, I was posting as Admin and by default, I belong to all groups.

I’m having this exact same problem! Groups work fine, but the global forum doesn’t work.
