In reply to: Default Activity Streams Are Backwards IMHO
I’m noticing so much noise in the default streams to the point of it being a turn off to log into a site. If people want you in their stream they will add you. Just like on twitter.
In reply to: Default theme with widgetized home pageoh yeah that widget is made for the sidebar. i have trouble with it as well. Some widgets may go funky if its third party. I’ll work on that one and see if I can update the code. If I remember correctly it was missing some HTML.
quick fix till I figure it out. put an text widget right below the recent members widget and add
<br><br><br>to the widget with no title
In reply to: Default theme with widgetized home pagewhat browser OS? I did not check this on everything and does my link above show the same results.
In reply to: Default theme with widgetized home pagewp-content/themes/bp-widget
Theme needs to be activated as the site theme. Its basically the same theme as the default with a new functions file and page template for the home page. It’s better this way so the buddypress upgrades will never be affected.
In reply to: 1.2 plug-ins listExcellent… I feel like Mr. Burns tapping my fingers at all the great plugins being updated
In reply to: BuddyPress Links 0.3-beta released for testingGot it!… stupid eager beaver I am. Just thought of something. This would be a killer feature if you could do a browser type thing like the admin press-it. So when you are on youtube you hit the bookmark and it pops an input box.
In reply to: BuddyPress Links 0.3-beta released for testingI went to the link above and downloaded the latest. Is that not the right place to download?
EDIT duh stupid me i didnt realize the text development version was the one to download LOL!
In reply to: 1.2 plug-ins list@DJPaul where is the link to the updated version?
In reply to: BuddyPress Links 0.3-beta released for testingclick the links link throws up error
but when I activate a child theme then when you click links it redirects to home page.
In reply to: 1.2 plug-ins list@r-a-y sweet!
In reply to: Default theme with widgetized home pageYou could code a theme to force a widgetized homepage but I think it always better to have options. By using a page template you can include different home page layouts. I just transferred the classic home page over.
A test site
In reply to: BuddyPress Links 0.3-beta released for testingIs this updated for WP single?
In reply to: how to stop logged out users for entering the siteIn reply to: time limit on replySearch comment plugins I saw something like this once
In reply to: Can any install for me?yup, if you use the 1.2 version it works with single WP and its just as easy as installing a plug in. If you want to use a forum you will have to download bbpress and upload it to the bp-forum folder inside the buddypress folder
In reply to: Can any install for me?It’s so easy do you really need help?

Go into plugins add new and upload. Activate plugin then go into themes and activate the default BP theme.
Cake!
I’m working on an iPhone mobile theme based in the 1.2 default. Here’s one that already out http://diesellaws.testbp.org/unplugged-child-theme-updated/
uhh I’m confused because on the demo page it links to what you get OOTB and a few links to what you can do with BP. So the statement it doesn’t do what is advertised is WAY false.
This site is an example of what you can do with BP and the demo links to what you get OOTB.

In reply to: Brand new install of 1.2 with wpmu 2.9.1you didn’t move the theme files did you? Also make sure the permalinks is set to anything but default and save
when you click about it goes to this url http://sharepointindex.com/index.php/about so something is funky with your permalink structure
Now that BP can be installed on user blogs can’t you use that + I coulda swore there was a plugin before that allowed people to use a different domain for their user blog. Or maybe I’m dreaming it all.
In reply to: BuddyPress for dummies bookWho needs a book when the community here is so vibrant
In reply to: BuddyPress for dummies bookyeah seems like a premature release considering the 1.2 update.
