If you find things in codex that are deprecated then leave it but put a note next to it saying what BP version it got dropped. That whole template tag page needs a good flogging.

1.7 saw theme compatibity which was huge. That happened within 2 years. There has also been alot of work in the admin.

BuddyPress is a solid foundation to build incredable things. I prefer that than bloated buggy features that are unmaintainable.

Before a new version is out we go through every ticket and if progress on it hasn’t moved it gets punted.

The cpt feature could be done as a plugin.

create a new user in admin and change that account to admin. then logout. login with new admin account and mark your other account not a spammer in wanguard

The community decides the direction of BP not Automattic. JJJ is still project lead. Most decisions about BP happen in the IRC dev chats.

Is WordPress installed in the root or in a folder? sounds like the install got borked. In future I would always use the admin to update WP. Also, this error has happened before when WP was installed using a one click host installer.

no-ajax is for disabling ajax. The profile pages never had the ajax refresh affects on tabs

A group is just a BuddyPress component and you can create your own components. Duplicating the groups component is not an easy task. Why do you need more group types?

Are you on cheap shared hosting? I see a ton of files being loaded when you access the front page. The amount of scripts, images and css files seem extremely high.
