In reply to: No "My Account" Menu – Missing
The user account menu is in the admin bar. Looks like you have that removed.
That type of template overriding wont work yet. You would need to create a buddypress.php file in your theme folder that contains your themes page.php code and then wrap the sidebar with an if is not register page statement.

In reply to: Spam Signups?The reason for that is so many installs are not customized enough and that makes it easy for bots.
No system is safe from spam.
In reply to: Spam Signups?Google around for options. http://wp.tutsplus.com/tutorials/security/best-practices-for-preventing-buddypress-spam-user-registrations/
In reply to: Admin ControlIf you go to your messages and compose a new message, you have the option to send the notice to all users.
In reply to: Buddypress to Facebook NotificationsClosest thing you will get. No other plugin sends anything to Facebook. This plugin sends status updates. You can have it modified to send notices.

No need to update or replace, you can get it here. http://shop.taptappress.com/downloads/buddyshare

In reply to: Get group by creator_id?@designnz you can use the groups loop and retrieve the group id’s and then pass those to the loop.
In reply to: Get group by creator_id?Depends on how you want to display results. I left it with less markup just to show a more pure function. I would put most html in your theme.
function bp_group_creator_groups( $user_id ) { global $wpdb; $groups = $wpdb->get_results( $wpdb->prepare( "SELECT name FROM wp_bp_groups WHERE creator_id = %d", $user_id ) ); if ( $groups ) { foreach ( $groups as $group ) { echo '<li>' . $group->name . '</li>'; } } else { echo '<li>No Groups Created</li>'; } }Then in theme
`<ul><?php bp_group_creator_groups( $user_id ) ?></ul>`
In reply to: Get group by creator_id?There isn’t a function for that so you will have to access the database and get the info
place this in bp-custom.php
function bp_group_creator_groups( $user_id ) { global $wpdb; $groups = $wpdb->get_results( $wpdb->prepare( "SELECT name FROM wp_bp_groups WHERE creator_id = %d", $user_id ) ); foreach ( $groups as $group ) { echo '<li>' . $group->name . '</li>'; } }then you can use this in your theme template. you will need to replace $user_id with the author of the custom posts type.
`<?php bp_group_creator_groups( $user_id ); ?>`
In reply to: Get group by creator_id?where are you displaying and what is the “post”
In reply to: What is the activity equivalent to wp_delete_post?In reply to: Is Buddypress right for me and my project?no worries! 😉
Are the files for the mobile site just static (no wordpress just html)?
If that is the case then just redirect to a subfolder
url.com/mobile
In reply to: Is Buddypress right for me and my project?My concerns about BuddyPress – it’s open source, which is risky to build a business around when you’re looking to customize it and add plugins.
BuddyPress IS WordPress AND is also open source and WP powers a large portion the internet. As for support, you can hire a developer to create and fix anything. The core plugin is completely stable and constantly being updated.
Did you hear Google dropped Google Reader? phpfox could have a similar fate and since it’s not open source you could lose out, at least with open source you could take the code and do what ever you want.
use a browser cookie to save if link is clicked. Show the mobile or regular site based on cookie.
In reply to: Buddypress default themeYou can turn off the responsive CSS
`function my_bp_no_responsive() {
remove_theme_support( ‘bp-default-responsive’ );
}
add_action( ‘bp_head’, ‘my_bp_no_responsive’);`
In reply to: Fixed link that redirects to BuddyPress profilecreate your page with slug/url bp-profile and then use this code
In reply to: Issues with MediaTemple + BuddyPress + bbPressYou can’t just install and not take action to limit server requests. You need to cache as much as possible and use a CDN. Also check logs you can have bots hitting site and you can block those.
Find out what is hitting ajax file and block it.
