To output extra info you need to create a function in your plugin file, for each saved info you need to get it, below is only retrieving one field. Then attach it to the header meta action:
`function extra_fields_output(){
global $bp, $wpdb;$group_text = groups_get_groupmeta( $bp->groups->current_group->id, ‘e2e_text’ );
echo $group_text;
}
add_action( ‘bp_group_header_meta’, ‘extra_fields_output’ );`In reply to: How to edit a post in buddypressNeither Facebook, Twitter or Google+ allow yo to edit activity/ status updates. Seems like it’s the normal on the interwebs.
In reply to: How to restrict users to child theme onlyThis could be the issue not sure but to run BuddyPress you need to have a capable theme.
Are you running BuddyPress? I know its a silly question but people have posted on here before about WP issues.
In reply to: How to restrict users to child theme onlyyeah, I’m saying do not use the default themes that come with wordpress. Just to test. It shouldn’t matter but I think there have been problems with using default WP theme and children on MultiSite.
Is your 20 11 parent theme BuddyPress ready? This could also be a problem. If you are using BP Template pack and 20 11 and then trying to use a child on top of that.
In reply to: How to restrict users to child theme onlyalso when you get a white page it could be a php coding error in your theme
In reply to: How to restrict users to child theme onlyHave you tried using a different parent theme, to test if it’s the child or 20 11? I haven’t used 20 11 for a parent but I think I read somewhere a problem with 20 11 as a parent.
In reply to: How to restrict users to child theme onlyJust to be sure, does the child theme have a different name and do you have => Template: twentyeleven in the style sheet header?
In reply to: How to add page without its tab appearing in navYou would need to edit the navigation code in header.php BUT in the next version of BuddyPress coming any day now it will use WP nav menus you can edit from the admin.
In reply to: How to edit a post in buddypressWhat post?
create a file bp-custom.php and add to /wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php
add this code to file:
`<?php
define( ‘BP_DEFAULT_COMPONENT’, ‘profile’ );
?>`To change other settings read this page: https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/changing-internal-configuration-settings/
In reply to: Limit characters on activity updatesIn reply to: Profile download as a shopping cartbasically you’d allow each member to create a blog and then they can run a wp-ecommerce on each blog you can theme it so it would be streamlined and look like one cohesive site.
In reply to: Profile download as a shopping cartNo, there really isn’t a BuddyPress commerce solution for each individual.
You might want to connect with @justbishop who has created a Etsy type BuddyPress site http://www.riotcart.com
she might be able to give you some pointers.
I know the wp-ecommerce guys were wanting to expand their plugin but I think there needs to be a complete front end solution for BuddyPress users to sell things.
At the bottom you need to add a check to the array
` $plain_fields = array(
‘url’,
‘phone’,
‘text’,
‘check’,
‘price’
);`Then create your checkbox input
`
groups->current_group->id, ‘e2e_check’ ); ?>
<input type="checkbox" id="group-check" name="group-check" value="1" />
`In reply to: Profile download as a shopping cartThough it’s for groups, you could limit everyone to one group/store to sell. Might be a better flow for customers.

When I’m done with next version of BP mobile I’m creating a plugin that does what the profile fields does
In reply to: Ride OregonThat site is a highly custom WordPress, they are mostly just using the profiles part of BuddyPress. You will need to hire a developer if you are not comfortable with extensive coding. No plugin currently exists to gain this type of functionality.

In reply to: How to make a NEW PAGE in buddypress..This plugin has example code, but in the next version of BuddyPress this code is changing slightly

Why not just use moderators?
@alfredojp do not do that, you should be only saving group stuff to groupmeta and not creating your own db inserts.
I’ve changed some of the code from Boone’s example so if you are not using the plugin link code could be the reason it isn’t saving.
