What Boone said, I’m going to clean it up and make it more functional. So currently use it at own risk.
@alfredojp I agree but that’s not happening, it could be added to1.6. First a plugin and then a move to core if it works well.
oops, missing global. Making this into a plugin but might need some help. i’ll post it on git hub. Think we need same extra field functionality as profiles
`function group_details_markup() {
global $bp, $wpdb;`@boonebgorges I don’t think that code will work with 1.5
Did these get changed in 1.5
add_action( ‘groups_group_details_edited’, ‘group_details_save’ );
add_action( ‘groups_created_group’, ‘group_details_save’ );I’ll find the link and post it but someone even created a plugin to add extra fields below name and description
You will have to edit core files or add_action to the creation. I’m pretty sure this has been asked before search google instead of search on this site
Yes, it creates a new screen during creation.
In reply to: What does “Base profile group name” mean?You can specify profile field groups like links or interests. The default group of fields is called Base but you can change it to something like info or about
What is the link to this site?
In reply to: Add “Favorite” button to website comments?Sounds like something that could be added as an enhancement to future BuddyPress
There is this plugin, however its out dated. I’m going to create something similar in the future. No date set but it’s on my list of plugins to create
In reply to: Add geolocation option to activity postsSearch on here for adding extra meta or fields to activity updates. You’d have to create this as it doesn’t exist in a plugin

Change permalinks structure in admin to something else and save and see what happens.
In reply to: Can I fix formatting issues in the profile fields?You need to provide a bit more info about what version of BP and browser
In reply to: Facebook to BuddypressI’m pretty sure that is completely against Facebook terms of service. They’ve blocked Google from accessing your contacts as well as other services. They do not want you stealing your friends away from their advertisers.

This may help with getting users to invite https://buddypress.org/community/groups/invite-anyone/
In reply to: BuddyPress 1.5 compatibility for plugins and themesadd_action( ‘bp_setup_globals’, ‘bp_cubepoint_setup_globals’ ); <— is commented out, you should be using that to set global
In reply to: Avatars without Extended ProfilesYou could do a stripped down profile page with just username and avatar. If you want the de-emphasize profiles.
It’s in the core code and not something easily edited. What are you trying to accomplish?
In reply to: Is there a plugin that…No plugin for BuddyPress that has this function and I doubt anyone ever will create it. Very specific need.
paste the contents of bp-themes/bp-default/groups/single/group-header.php
You must not have removed the code.
In reply to: Is there a way to allow for HTML in profile fields?Could present a security risk unless you only allow specific code
In reply to: new subpage for every userThe BuddyPress skeleton component plugin is a base example o how to create new tabs/pages for users.
it will create a slug like /member/user/example
