In reply to: Component slug vs root slug
Did you look in the skeleton component? Not sure if this will work but you create a page/tab/slug attached to a root slug with something like this.
`function bp_foo_setup_nav() {
global $bp;bp_core_new_subnav_item( array(
‘name’ => __( ‘My Slug’, ‘buddypress’ ),
‘slug’ => ‘foo’,
‘parent_slug’ => $bp->BP_MEMBERS_SLUG->slug,
‘parent_url’ => $BP_MEMBERS_SLUG,
‘screen_function’ => ‘bp_foo_page’,
‘position’ => 10
) );}
add_action( ‘bp_setup_nav’, ‘bp_foo_setup_nav’ );`what is the url when you are on the page you want to remove the text? what I told you does remove the group type from a displaying in a group near where the group avatar is.
In reply to: if (is_user_logged_in())Are you using a cache plugin?
bp-default/groups/single/group-header.php
remove: ``
I do not see blog posts or a filter for blog posts on the latest trunk.
http://demo.buddiphone.com/activity/ <— check the show filter.
In reply to: how to put a “sign up” form in my sidebarIf I’m not mistaken BuddyBoss require you to click a join link. The box you refer to is the login form.
In reply to: Advanced settings for group forums?You should use bbpress separately. You could create a poll plugin with the group extension api.
On my 1.5 tes install there is no activity post when you post a blog nor is there a filter in the drop down. Either it’s been removed from BuddyPress or this is a glaring omission.
This is most likely due to the fact that 1.5 does not register blog posts in the activity stream and those are old database entries linking to something that no longer exists.
In reply to: How to use Group Extension APII’m thinking BP should have in core the same profile field creation but for groups.
In reply to: How to use Group Extension APIOk, so there still is a need for global custom group fields. Making an enhancement ticket for it.
In reply to: BuddyPress 1.5 compatibility for plugins and themes@Karmatosed I hate responsive themes because they are misused. You do not need it for desktop. Ever. If you use responsive css then it should give you the appropriate css based on screen size, not change the layout when you resize a browser. That is the worst UI/UX i’ve ever seen.
As for the app approach, more people access Facebook and Twitter via apps than they do browsers. The numbers dictate the slow death of the browser.
In reply to: Capital Letters in BuddyPress UsernamesAdd this to functions.php or bp-custom.php
define( ‘BP_ENABLE_USERNAME_COMPATIBILITY_MODE’, true );
In reply to: BuddyPress 1.5 compatibility for plugins and themesOh and i’m pitching for 1.6 to have a mobilized style sheet for BuddyPress by default.
In reply to: BuddyPress 1.5 compatibility for plugins and themesBuddyPress Share It and BuddyPress Verified good to go with either BP versions. Though all plugins will need toy be verified with the RC 1.5.
BuddyPress Mobile is most likely going to crash and burn with 1.5 and I’m not updating it. I’m turning it into a free version of http://buddiphone.com. Good things come to those who wait.
In reply to: Group Extension APIWhy are you posting this again? It’s being answered in the other thread.
In reply to: How to use Group Extension APIYou can add extra fields to a group during creation easily with the api it just wouldn’t be listed under the name and description fields. when I have a moment i’ll toss up a quickie plugin file for this.
In reply to: How to use Group Extension APIoh, I see. well the api would create a new screen. it doesn’t really add to the current group fields. You would need to add action to:
do_action( ‘bp_after_group_details_creation_step’ )
do_action( ‘groups_custom_group_fields_editable’ )Thats if you simply wanted to have a few more fields below the name and description
In reply to: How to use Group Extension APIThere isa plugin BP group extras that ads more fields to groups set up
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-groups-extras/
In reply to: How to use Group Extension APIoh wait, group api and skeleton comp are two separate things. skeleton comp creates a component. The group api adds features to a group.
In reply to: How to use Group Extension APIWhen activating the skeleton comp. before you edited it did it work ok? You should have had a tab show up in groups called example.

In reply to: if (is_user_logged_in())paste the full code
In reply to: Need 1.5 component slug code exampleWill do.
In reply to: Group Sponsorship?Another way is to use a user role plugin create a sponsor role and then add a little user loop for that role in the groups html. You would have to manually change a user to ‘sponsor’ in the admin.
In reply to: Twitter for BuddyPress Pollbumpily bump. Need more feedback.
