I’ve tried to register on your site – got an email with the activation-link, but none with my login credentials. Not sure, Janrain Engage works fully with BP. Login via Twitter also does not work.

BuddyPress 1.0-RC1? Sure? Not 1.2.8? Is your theme the standard-wp-theme? If so, you need to install bp-template-pack or search with google, there is an adapted twentyten for buddypress out there.

Had the same problems on a multisite installation. Didn’t try deactivation of the bp-theme. In my case I just overwrote the buddypress plugin and then made my modifications.

@imath I have also used wpmu earlier – if someone has updated in the right way from 2.9.x to 3.0, the folder-structure also has changed – i.e. with another update to 3.1 there shouldn’t be any problems with wrong paths.

I had similar problems. Working with BP 1.2.8 and WP 3.1 multisite. The paths are correct, the files were there, but nothing to activate. The problem was: the zip-files are zipped in the wrong way (folder structure unzipped was: bpmh-bkmks/bpmh-bkmks/somefiles – but it has to be bpmh-bkmks/somefiles), so wp can’t unzip them – I unzipped […]

PS: you can see it in action right here: http://www.minemusig.at/thenaughtydaughters/ -> go to “Profiltyp”, it’s a selectfield you have to check on registration and also works as a “role-selector”, too (if you want to know how, I can help). If you click on “Band” it shows you all other profiles of that type.
