quick check… have you enabled BP_ENABLE_USERNAME_COMPATIBILITY_MODE ?
In reply to: bp_group_is_moderatorIn reply to: Sitemap.xml for buddypresshttps://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-sitemap-generator/ (ignore some of the warnings in the dashboard – i haven’t updated it awhile but still works and waiting on bp 1.2.6 to do so.)
In reply to: Hide Friend and Group Counts`bp-default/members/index.php` has “ and so forth. this could be child via a child theme
In reply to: Limit New Topicssure but you will need to modify a few theme files and wrap the post forms with a check
theme files contain the “Post a New Topic:” forms
groups/single/forum.php
forums/index.phpthen some check like so
`if ( !bp_is_group() || ( bp_is_group() && ( is_site_admin() || groups_is_user_admin( bp_loggedin_user_id(), bp_get_group_id() ) || groups_is_user_mod( bp_loggedin_user_id(), bp_get_group_id() ) ) ) )`In reply to: bp_group_is_moderatoryou mean `bp_group_is_mod()` ?
also
`groups_is_user_mod( $user_id, $group_id )`
`groups_is_user_admin( $user_id, $group_id )`In reply to: Forums Page not Working Properly@per4mance – group forum extras only tested with bp-default theme, possible the theme you’re using does not include a proper filter where the css class needs to be injected.
sorry @hnla to go OT more
In reply to: How to RegEx the output (stream/forum)?you asked this question yesterday (why not just keep it to one thread)
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/search-and-replace-status-text-with-regular-expressions/you will need to use the hooks setup for buddypress or ask the author of that plugin to include the hooks. ie, the hook for the activity content is `bp_get_activity_content` or forums `bp_get_the_topic_post_content` and so forth.
In reply to: users editing their postsallows editing top level status updates (not replies – think after 1.2.6 hits i can hook into a new filter)
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-edit-activity-stream/
via sql would be another way to remove them (besides manually each via buddypress frontend)
In reply to: Clarification needed on posting forum repliesas expected – you can disable activity commenting on forum topics/replies via wp-admin buddypress settings.
each forum topic/reply excerpt is logged in the activity stream linking back to the appropriate forum topic. the activity stream has a separate functionality for commenting as well.
new ones only (and no way to recover future ones
)In reply to: Group Forum Extras – Forum Index BugFWIW – https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2264 for 1.2.6
In reply to: Group avatar in activity streamJJJ added this to 1.2.6 (secondary avatars)
In reply to: Require VIP membership for group creationrestrict group creation can also map to wp_cap/roles – if something is setup for a “vip” level
unfortunately at the moment i do not have the time to code and investigate exactly what needs to be done
In reply to: Group avatar in activity streami can take a look next week – as i wouldn’t mind adding in this feature as well.
In reply to: Group avatar in activity streamyou’ll need to use a filter on bp_get_group_avatar and do some leg work to switch it if the activity component is ‘group’. (the way that function is setup, if a user_id is stored in the activity record, even if the component is a group – the object defaults to user regardless. also ‘avatar_dir’ => ‘group-avatars’ is not passed to fetch_avatar)
In reply to: musicianswanted.orgnice job
In reply to: Strange behaviour of Latest Forum Topics widgeti can’t replicate it on my local install with bp1.2.5.2/wp3.0.1 but use my group forum extras plugin instead of a standalone widget
switch_to_blog( bp_get_activity_item_id() )
but only to throw another kink into this experiment you’ll need to check the bp_get_activity_type() == ‘new_blog_post’ prior to switching and pulling meta data
In reply to: Strange behaviour of Latest Forum Topics widgetlooks like all the topic_object_* functions are not returning values if under the group scope (drawback of the functionality in bp core code – though i don’t know the exact reason at the moment). I can take a closer look in a few days and may have to create a new function to check which area and output the proper group name/links
In reply to: Show group members blogsok, if you can wait until the weekend ( some non-computer priority stuff right now
) – i’ll give it a go at coding up a solutionlooks like a theme issue as that function is not part of the buddypress core
