Thanks – that looks worth a try.
One of my problems though that is making me want to go back to single site is that BackupBuddy wont backup the site properly.
Guess I will do a manual db backup before starting. Thanks ~
Anyone out there ?
@dpolant I would like to use this on a live site
but I notice you have not updated in 9 months and
the plugin is still in beta.
Please let us know if anything is happening or if you have abandoned this project?
Dan VThanks @netweblogic Marcus – that code worked for me and various others didnt !
@r-a-y the code you posted on this thread is not available anymore

The links to pastebin code are dead. Please post again. What a waste of time.
Yes Ive tried Ms method too. It is not enough by itself. So – basically BP users who are content with the default settings of bbpress now have it easy.
But anyone who wants to install plugins for bbpress finds it a nightmare.
Very helpful thanks @Bowromir
Re the gzip part… I have checked and it is enabled on my server
but I have no idea how to implement it.
Where/how do you set those things?
Thx – DV@schacherer
Hi – I would like to know how to make a page template like that please.I think Im after the same thing.
I want to be able to create a link anywhere
for logged in members to take them to their Profile page
or their EditProfile page
or even a specific tag in their EditProfile page
or to the ChangeAvatar page.Is there a way to do this?
Otherwise the only way for a member to access these pages is through the main menu? Thanks ~ DV
BP Compatibility plugin is just a quick fix to make sure BP can display its core features.
I think you would need a developer to check the specific compatibility issues to make a core functionality like an Article Directory dovetail with BP.
BP is a BIG plugin – perhaps the biggest (?)
and I find it does not play that well with anything not specifically designed around it.I thought I finally found a plugin that among other things lets members upload an image on their profile page… but now Ive lost it again…. arghhhh.
Thanks @Chouf1 it looks like a good lead – but unless I pay for help its beyond my minimal skill levels to implement it..
I guess I could start be looking at functions.php and wp-includes/kses.php ?
However Im beginning to think that this is not just a question of getting html in
but also of displaying pictures or other media in an extended profile field on the profile page.
I used a plugin which seemed to keep the html intact – but nothing showed up in the profile.I still cant figure why this isnt a straight forward thing to do on the profile page as it is easy enough to use Tinymce to add media in a post?
Sorry – an after thought… I am using the awesome Cincopa multimedia plugin which just needs to embed a short code inside [ brackets ] .
Is it possible to remove the filter only for these codes to allow the plugin to work? http://www.cincopa.com/media-platform/wordpress-plugin.aspxThanks @r-a-y – I guess then that I do need TinyMCE to edit the extended profile fields for better security.
Im trying to understand why from the above linked articles it seems to be a problem to activate by plugin. Even Boone has trouble with it! And yet we have TinyMCE in posts and in Eventpress events etc. What is so different with the extended profile fields?
And if this is really a problem without a good solution – is there some way to at least allow BP members to add pictures to their profile page? Please pardon my slight rudeness in a previous post caused by tiredness and my newbie frustration with the functionality here.
I do very much appreciate the effort that it must all take and the unique contribution you make through BP.
Please allow me to ‘buy you a beer’…
I am having trouble getting answers to some fairly simple questions
that I am surprised I cannot find solutions to – such as this one above.Hey any movement on this in last few months? I just made another post here about the need for tinymce in BP profiles https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/html-on-profile-page-can-it-be-done/#post-77788
Ive spent another couple of hours researching this and other than a plugin by Boone here http://teleogistic.net/2009/12/tinymce-in-buddypress/ and here
http://byronbayblog.com/wp-admin/plugin-install.php?tab=plugin-information&plugin=bp-tinymce&TB_iframe=true&width=640&height=471
– which was only in early stages and has no activity for nearly a year –
I cant find any way to allow html or even better tinyMCE to profile fields.I understand there are some security issues but how come
tinymce is enabled for member posts in the main WP admin area,
its also enabled in the Eventpress plugins event posting –
so why cant it be enabled in profile fields???
Surely this is basic functionality – no?Bump – if that works on this dinky excuse for a forum/support/community
No I was not logged in and
yes I am now trying thr default theme and it seems okay so far.
I notice with the default theme that if I enter an already used email address or username I get an error message.
I dont think that was happening in my other theme so I guess thats a clue.
Not being a programmer I think I will go with modifying the default theme rather than trying to make something else work.Has anyone had a problem with the registration page reloading and the registration not going through? What makes this wierder is that after the problem appeared I managed to do one proper registration and then it has been failing again ever since.
