BP 1.2 and bbPress admin/plugins

Couple of questions regarding Buddypress 1.2 and bbPress integration: Is there going to be a way to somehow get to the admin interface for bbPress? And is there going to be a way to add and activate bbPress plugins?

At the moment I don’t see anything in BP 1.2 that allows for either of those things to happen.

That was part of BP before version 1.1

    OK, getting somewhere now:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_wire_setup_globals() in /home/mysite/public_html/wpmu/wp-content/mu-plugins/oci_bp_group_forums.php on line 618

so the bbpress and Buddypress plugins are making contact but they are using (at least one) obsolete function. What is the replacement for bp_wire_setup_globals()?

, what did you modify? I noticed that posts in bbpress don’t show up on the activity notifications, and the public/private/hidden stuff doesn’t seem to work either…

I can’t remember but i had to rewrite a bunch of it – and also hack the bbPress core to play nice with the GMT buddypress timestamps. Then throw in that bpGroups uses xmlrpc – so personally i’m moving to open up bbpress within buddypress instead of running an external bbpress install (with all the hidden/private forums)

“OK, tried both methods M suggested, and they get me this far:

    1) I can create posts and forums in the bbPress admin panel

    2) They don’t show up in BuddyPress/forums”

^^Exactly my problem – any may have a solution to this?

    What a waste of time.
Yes Ive tried Ms method too. It is not enough by itself.

So – basically BP users who are content with the default settings of bbpress now have it easy.
But anyone who wants to install plugins for bbpress finds it a nightmare.
    :-(

Don’t worry, bbPress plugin is being worked on which will make this thing as easy. Baby steps.

I’m so confused at this point, as to why it works the way it does.

I was so happy to find buddypress but not being able to create default support forums is nuts. I don’t quite know what to do now.
