Goody! I’d like to incorporate this into my new theme framework (coming along nicely…). That is, if you don’t mind credit and some link love

I couldn’t figure out how to do it without the key but, now it looks doable. Thanks a bunch! In reply to: Buddypress not working with GodaddyHave you checked that everything under “Buddypress” > “Component Setup” in your WP backend is set and active?
Have you setup forums under “Buddypress” > “Forum Setup”?In reply to: [Resolved] Sidebars left and right in a fluid themeThanks for the suggestion. I had looked at some grid frameworks, but didn’t want to go that route for this theme. I’m keeping it in mind for future projects though.
@bowromir
Bingo! Silly me and my thick head
I was working with fixed-width sidebars. Percentages didn’t even occur to me for them. Your suggestion got me going where I wanted to go with my fluid theme. Thanks a bunch!
In reply to: [Resolved] Sidebars left and right in a fluid themeRats! I thought I had it. Putting more widgets in the sidebar to test, another puzzle popped up:
By adding position:absolute; to the sidebar, it no longer increases the height of the content div if it’s longer. Back to the drawing board…
In reply to: [Resolved] Sidebars left and right in a fluid themeLol…
After hours of puzzling this over, I finally ask a question in this forum, and then inspiration hits me.
Solved the puzzle with a simple margin-left:0; and position:absolute; In reply to: Weird “groups” issueSee this response to your earlier thread:

I just started putting together a site so folks can take BuddyLite Premium for a test drive. It`s got a fully functional backend admin panel (only the BuddyLite Theme Settings are accessible) with all the customization options one could hope for in a theme framework. And, get this: you can even create, save and share “grand-child” themes. See http://buddylite.com/groups/premium-support/styles/ for an idea on how that works.
This version of BuddyLite will come with three fixed-width variations: 1200px, 970px and 782px wide. Each will include an optional full-width page template with no sidebar. Also included will be several additional “base-styles” that you can use as-is, or you can customize the heck out of them! One of those will be a fluid, full-screen variation. Still working on those though
In reply to: buddypress barDive in! You really do need to have a basic grasp of HTML/CSS if you’re going to get anywhere with WP/BP.
…and don’t forget to allow yourself to have fun while you’re pulling out your hair!
In reply to: buddypress barIn “Community”, I only see Activity, Members and Groups. In “My Account”, I see Activity, Profile, Messages, Friends, Groups, Albums, Settings, Logout (with appropriate subnavs). The Create a Group button is only seen in the Group directory (where it should be), but you can grab the code from groups/index.php and add it to other templates too if you prefer.
In reply to: buddypress barI just created an account on your site and was able to create a group just the way it’s supposed to be done (the “Create a group” button is in the Groups directory).
Forums aren’t enabled yet on your site, are they? You can do that in your WP backend under “Buddypress” > “Forums Setup”.In reply to: buddypress barAh yes, child themes are one of the MOST important things to learn when it comes to BP.
Here’s a link to the codex tutorial:
https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/Could you post a link to your site? I could register there and see if I can help out.

Gotcha! Here’s how…
1- Enable “Hide Main Theme Nav”, “Add WordPress pages/menus”, “Add Buddypress components” and “Scroll with pages”.
2 – Go to “Sizes & Position” and adjust the “Overall navbar width” to the width of your template.
3 – Play around with “Vertical offset” and “Horizontal offset” until you get it positioned about where you want it.
4 – Save settings.
5 – Now go to “Appearance” > “Menus” and select the WP3 custom menu you want at “BP-WP-Navbar Menu 1”
6 – Click “Save” at “Theme locations” and “Save menu”
7 – Check your site and refresh a page.
8 – Repeat, lather & rinse until you get it “just right”.
9 – Have fun!

I just updated the readme with the “Compatible to…” info.In reply to: buddypress barDone. Updated the repo… it should appear on BP.org/WP.org in a few minutes…
In reply to: buddypress bar@Tekuan_Coleman
Ah, I should update that info. It tests and works just fine in BP1.2.6.
You can see it on a live site here (WP3.0.1 + BP1.2.6): http://buddylite.com/In reply to: buddypress bar@Tekuan_Coleman
“…is there a way i can just added all the options to my site like in the navigation bar?”
Have you tried Add-All-Nav-Links-to-BP-Adminbar? You can add your main menu items to the navbar, then reposition it anywhere you like to replace the main nav.

Just added an online version of the BuddyLite Manual for those who want to check stuff out before downloading
http://buddylite.com/buddylite-basic-manual/The theme should (hopefully) be available soon from the repo… gotta wait for the reviewers to approve it first
In reply to: Navigation to the DashboardI presume you’re running WP single; otherwise you’d have a direct link to your dashboard in the “My Blogs” dropdown of the adminbar.
So, simply enter the following in your browser’s address bar:
your-site.com/wp-adminHave you tried the Widget Logic plugin? You can determine the placement of widgets using both WP and BP conditional tags. That means you can create custom sidebars for ANY component, category, tag, post, page, etc… Give it a whirl; it’s a lot easier than trying to code stuff from scratch

In reply to: Admin bar blurred in Chrome and FirefoxYou’re welcome
In reply to: Admin bar blurred in Chrome and FirefoxMy first thought is that it’s a text-shadow causing the blur effect. As the adminbar is called via the footer, try adding the following to your CSS:
`div#footer {text-shadow:none;}`BTW, you really should create a child-theme rather than using bp-default, otherwise any changes you make to the default theme will be lost when you upgrade Buddypress. See here to learn how:
