Since forum stickies aren’t working properly, it’s hard for new users to find this FAQ thread.

There’s a filter you can use: embed_oembed_html.

If you have other query_post loops running on the page, you might need to reset the loop.

Use something like wp_reset_query(); after a query_posts loop or use a WP_Query loop, which doesn’t require resetting altogether:

This issue is addressed in the newer releases of BP.

The BP Followers plugin does not create this issue you speak of.
It’s the custom theme and coding built into buddypress.org that adds the @mentions to the personal activity stream.

Looks like you resolved your problem as member profile links work for me.

I added a couple of new functions to the new functions.php, to enable activity as frontpage…

This shouldn’t be needed as this is fixed in the latest version of BP.
