Wow. Thank you. This seems to work until the very last page of the search pagination.
Instead of showing the last few people it breaks and shows all the users from the search.

@r-a-y no there appears to still be some issue, @danbp flagged on a ticket and I can see the same issue on a current trunk install, but haven’t had time to delve further , may not be a BP issue though!

@r-a-y what tickets and changes are relevant to this issue? I’ve tracked back and through all I can find on is_page() and can’t locate this last change, this may be a bug with WP but I now have an issue with perfectly legitimate is_page & is_singular() checks on screens/CPT’s slugs that have nothing whatsoever to do with BP and manage loading of…[Read more]

The functionality is available but I think it may work only for a member’s ‘friends’ by default. Take a look at this thread by @r-a-y which discusses how to make the feature work for all users.

Note: The thread is 4 years old but I assume the code still works.

If anyone else encounters this issue then read the info in the link above and apply the patch @r-a-y supplied then you will be good to go.

I’m not sure which membership plugins work well with BP as I’ve not used any but I’m sure some of the guys on here will be able to recommend?

As @r-a-y points out in this thread, is_buddypress() is a good catch all for BuddyPress pages. So, you could put something like this in your theme’s functions.php file:

Besides @r-a-y ‘s advice are you sure the user hasn’t activated their account with the email and when they clicked on it they just gotten the message their account could not be activated?
