In reply to: Fatal error BP Emails
You could try disabling some BuddyPress components that you could sacrifice using.
Go to “Settings > BuddyPress > Components” and uncheck one component. Then, go back to the “Emails” dashboard page to see if it will load. If that doesn’t work, repeat this process until the “Emails” page loads.
If it loads, make the changes you need to make. Then, re-enable the BuddyPress components you disabled.
In reply to: Disable Activity streams, keep mentions for BBPressI know bbPress has their own version of at-mentions. You should experiment by disabling the Activity Streams component from BuddyPress and testing an at-mention in a bbPress forum post to see what happens.
In reply to: Fatal error BP EmailsSince you are memory-restricted, you can try disabling all unnecessary plugins except BuddyPress to see if that helps.
In reply to: Attempting to registerWhat version of WordPress are you using?
If you’re not on the latest version of WordPress, please try upgrading and see if that fixes the problem.
In reply to: Auto-role based on forum post countSince you are talking about forum post count, you should post this over on the bbPress forums:
https://bbpress.org/forumsbbPress adds support for group forums in BuddyPress.
Here are some hints though:

http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/a/4727Thanks for the report.
We do support default WordPress themes, however new color schemes for default themes is something we really haven’t taken into consideration.
I’m going to ping @hnla here since he’s our resident companion stylesheet guru.
hnla – I haven’t looked into this yet, but if 2016 adds a
<body>CSS class to denote the new dark scheme, it might be possible to change our BP colors in our 2016 companion stylesheet to reflect 2016’s dark scheme. In reply to: Fatal error BP EmailsIt looks like your server has restricted your memory limit to 128MB. You need to contact your webhost to increase the limit to something higher like 256MB.
Thanks for the report, however BuddyPress doesn’t touch the lost password email. That is a native WordPress email.
Perhaps you need to configure your SendGrid plugin or SMTP.
In reply to: Settings tab missing in buddypress menuThe
Settingstab was renamed toOptions.Click on the
Optionstab and you should be good to go.I cannot duplicate this problem with Theme My Login.
I’m using the default Theme My Login settings untouched and was able to go to the
registerpage and successfully submit the form with no redirections.Make sure for BuddyPress that you selected the BuddyPress “Register” page and not TMLs.
Also disable any plugins that might be interferring with registration like New User Approve, etc.
In reply to: Registration page does not workAfter reading your post some more, you say this problem only occurs in Firefox?
If so, try purging your browser cache in Firefox and try again. Or try in a new Firefox profile.
In reply to: Registration page does not workDid you turn on registration on your WP install? See:
https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/register-and-activation-pages/In reply to: I have translated to Spanish phrases new emailsIf you customized the email content in the new
Emailsadmin area, then it should stay translated to whatever you typed in there. So you should be safe!In reply to: Stmp email buddypress 2.5I haven’t looked into this yet, but nejisly’s problem may be due to the Easy WP SMTP plugin and how BuddyPress 2.5 is not compatible with it.
@nejisly – Can you try another SMTP plugin and see if that works?
If you need to keep using Easy WP SMTP, read the last point in this article to find out how to disable BP’s email functionality:

https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/6935Aggregate all the mentions , favorites, groups, etc, etc in one name wall.
Have you tried the Activity Directory page?
If you are talking about the Activity tab on a user’s profile, then I somewhat agree with you 🙂
Are you using any private message plugins or code snippets that might be interfering with this?
Can you try the following fix?
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/10586/branches/2.4/src/bp-messages/bp-messages-functions.phpThis is scheduled to be released with BuddyPress 2.5 this week, but you can try this fix temporarily.
In reply to: BP 2.5 RC1: php syntax error?I believe you can simply delete
/bp-forums/bbpress/and you should be good to go.However, I understand that this is annoying for WP Engine as you might have to do this manually each time BuddyPress has an update.
An alternative is to pull the development version of the codebase (SVN or Git) from buddypress.trac.buddypress.org. Then, you can checkout the current maintenance branch (currently 2.4, but will be 2.5).
The development version does not include the older version of bbPress; we only include the older version when bundling it for a release.
Hopefully that helps somewhat.
In reply to: WPMU and BP Not Adding UserYou might also want to try BP 2.5-RC1:
I believe the issue might be fixed there.
So my next question would be… is there a downside with having BP network enabled when it will only be used on 1/3 sites?
If you are using the site tracking feature in BuddyPress (Settings > BuddyPress > Components), then you would need to leave BuddyPress network activated.
Otherwise, except for taking up some PHP memory, there isn’t any downsides.
In reply to: Activate Existing WordPress Users?BuddyPress users are WordPress users; they are the same.
If you are talking about making those users active in BuddyPress terms, then those users would need to login at least once.

https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/6633#comment:3If you are interested in testing BP 2.5, maybe you can try in a local environment?
@paddy33 – Try adding this line to your theme’s
functions.phpin your'after_setup_theme'hook.add_theme_support( 'buddypress' );This should bring back support to use
bp_core_load_template()in your theme. However, may I ask what URL you are attempting to loadbp_core_load_template( 'template-user-account' )on?If this is a non-BuddyPress page (eg.
example.com/dashboard), just useget_template_part()instead ofbp_core_load_template().In reply to: Global $bp does not contain current_user dataIt’s because
bp_displayed_user_id()is only applicable on member profile pages (eg.example.com/members/USERNAME).You’re probably looking to use
bp_loggedin_user_id(). Or if you just want to rely on WordPress functions, just useget_current_user_id()/get_user_by().You might want to read this reply:
