Roger Coathup posted on the forum topic Blog posts on activity stream and permalink problem in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 1 month ago
Yes, I can see there is a problem with permalinks for your main blog. Although, the permalinks in sub-blogs seem to work fine. What happens if you de-activate your theme, and try using the default BuddyPress theme… do they work in that case? What type of server are you on? Can your site write without […]

@lightcapturer – On the permalinks: what settings do you have for your permalinks (in wp-admin … settings)? Please post as much information as you can, e.g. the url of some of the pages that are failing. On the activity stream: only new blog posts (not existing ones) should show up in the stream. What happens if […]

@faberuna … you’ll need to edit your header.php file.

Yes, if you are on cpanel… set one up as *.uetblogs.com
Please though: ask these questions in the forum

You are best to install WordPress first and setup multisite before BuddyPress.
You’ll have to ask on the WordPress forums if you need specific help with that setup (http.conf etc.). I use cpanel, and simply have to create a subdomain ‘*’ in there, and everything gets configured automatically.
So, WordPress forums for config help, and get your…[Read more]

Roger Coathup posted on the forum topic Attaching wordfiles, jpg and PDF possible? (Can Buddypress work like googlegroups?) in the group Creating & Extending: 15 years, 1 month ago
@buddhist – you can upload files (PDF, jpg, etc.) without problem into posts within BuddyPress.
However, I think for what you are looking for (groups with their own documents), it would be best to look at the Group Documents plugin: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-group-documents/

They must be asked not to do this please and directed to forum threads only, unless a specific reason for contacting a member directly (even though this isn’t really a PM system)

Roger Coathup posted on the forum topic How do I remove the 'Inspiring Companies' section from my website in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 1 month ago
Yes, the display is off in Safari as well, and the page load times were ridiculously slow.
p.s. If you have any problems with this theme, it looks like you bought it from wpmudev (judging by the copyright notice), so it might get a better response if you ask direct on their support forums

You need to go into your theme and edit the theme files (.php – probably index.php or home.php for this page, or something similar)

Roger Coathup posted on the forum topic Wp 3.0.1. Local host: The requested URL /members/ was not found on this server. in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 1 month ago
@helverk – if custom permalinks (/%category%/%postname%/) don’t work for your WordPress without BuddyPress installed, then the problem is in your basic WordPress server setup, and not to do with BuddyPress. You need to make sure you can run WordPress correctly with permalinks, before moving on to the BuddyPress installation. Unfortunately, the…[Read more]

@helverk – I think the crucial difference between your site and Christina’s, is that you are experiencing your problems trying to set up a local test server. Does your site function correctly without BuddyPress installed? Including using custom permalinks (e.g. /%category%/%postname%/). When you switch to custom permalinks without BuddyPress what…[Read more]

You’re welcome. Good luck with your project.
Back to listening to the cricket – it’s looking like England might be building up a decent lead. Are you a cricket fan? Amir looks like an exciting bowler for the future.

Did you try following the instructions on this page: https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/upgrading-from-10x/ ?
You’ll need to know what version of BuddyPress you are on already. Go to plugins in your wp-admin backend and it will tell you the version.
