@rogercoathup Hello, I’m using a non-made for buddypress theme, I’ve activate buddypress and the function’s pages fit approximatively in the theme. I’ve tried to replace them with the original from bp-theme/bp-default (to have the function’s page from a buddypress theme on my theme and modify them) but it don’t seems to work, what did I do […]

Yes, both have the same htaccess settings, including the permissions.
Like you, I have no other thoughts than those already discussed. Therefore I plan to refresh the installation.
Thanks, @rogercoathup, for any inputs.

@adiljaved what @rogercoathup said, go multisite subdirectory structure for subblogs as in http://example.com/subsite1 (instead of http://subsite1.example.com) if you don’t want to change servers.

@rogercoathup:
Recently I tried, with only BuddyPress are active, blog posts can appear in actifity stream. So maybe a plugin causes it does not appear. However, the permalink still can not work unless the default permalink. Permalink I now use is “/%author%/%postname%/”. For more details, you can see on my site. -

@rogercoathup: Yes, it worked perfectly. But once I turn on BuddyPress, without any other plugins active, instantly permalink does not work.

@rogercoathup roger, sorry for another question, but i have to ask ;p
i have bought a domain uetblogs.com and a installed buddypress, i also want to install WordPress multisite so every member can get his own blog. how can i do that can you please help me. i have read https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network but i dont know where to find…[Read more]-
You are best to install WordPress first and setup multisite before BuddyPress.
You’ll have to ask on the WordPress forums if you need specific help with that setup (http.conf etc.). I use cpanel, and simply have to create a subdomain ‘*’ in there, and everything gets configured automatically.
So, WordPress forums for config help, and get your…[Read more]

what do your mean by subdomain “*” ?? do u mean i have to creat a domain like *.uetblogs.com or any sub domain with any name???

Yes, if you are on cpanel… set one up as *.uetblogs.com
Please though: ask these questions in the forum

We typically undertake full design and development projects, rather than configuration / installation of existing systems.

@rogercoathup Roger, are there disadvantages in not having wp multisite network enabled? (subuser.mysite.com/ or mysite.com/subuser) Such as some future disadvantages? I will use only one common blog all members can share to post it anyway, but perhaps some plugins etc. wont work on standard single install.
We have site with 5K traffic/day,…[Read more]

If you don’t need the separate blogs, I would definitely stick with the single site install.
If anything, you’ll find more standard WP plugins that work, rather than less.
The only one off the top of my head that may not work is the group blog extension – as I guess that must need to create additional blogs.
If you want to go single blog with…[Read more]

@rogercoathup Alright, thanks for the heads up then! I will stay posted! By the way, is there an easy way to follow on the development of bbPress plugin? Maybe a dev blog like wpdevel.wordpress.com?
And about the reviews/ voting, I am open to any plugin ideas then!
Thank you again!

@rogercoathup as you can see I use the term template/theme to talk about the same thing. Thanks you for the correct utilization of the term. Take a look at the BuddyPress default theme (itβs in plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default), and you will see all the separate template files, including sub-folders with the templates for activity, m…[Read more]

@rogercoathup Thanks you very much for taking some of your time to help me ! @rogercoathup I think the point was made gently? but firmly that while it’s fine to question someone or disagree etc it is not acceptable – ever – to cast a slur on their reputation; calling someone untrustworthy is actually libelous.
