In reply to: Changing Avatar size sometimes creates Fuzzy Avatars
well, The very first thing is
1. define the 2 size(bp allows only 3 sizes of avatar at this moment) using the constants BP_AVATAR_(THUMB/FULL/ORIGINAL_MAX)_HEIGHT and BP_AVATAR_(THUMB/FULL/ORIGINAL_MAX)_WIDTH if the original avatar sizes(50×50,150×150,450×450) does not fit your requirement.Then use bp_core_fetch_avatar, it supports the width,height property and thumb type
You can fetch an avatar of different size using different width/height value but again, It will not crop, it will constrain the avar using the width/height property in the img tag. so i don’t think it will be of much use .But if you want only 2 sizes of avatar, as you mentioned above, define one as Thumb,other as full and fetch thumb using “type=thumb” and the other using “type=anything other than thumb” in bp_core_fetch_avatar and it will work.
In reply to: Changing Avatar size sometimes creates Fuzzy AvatarsDid you make changes in bp-custom.php using the
define( 'BP_AVATAR_THUMB_WIDTH', 105 )If yes, then It will work perfectly for the newly uploaded avatars after you made the changes, but the avatars which were uploaded before you made change will be distorted. User will need to reupload them.
In reply to: BuddyPress on Separate Blogswell, since members tab link is a matter of theme, if we hack the url, it will affect other tabs too(say activity/forums etc which i think you don’t want to redirect on main blog), so easy way will be to to edit the header.php and change the lines for member tab link in theme(forum does not allow here html so the link on pastebin).
here is a link to pastebin http://bpdev.pastebin.com/0EXgZ4Sf
In reply to: BuddyPress on Separate Blogs@lightcapturer @mercime
It is possible.
Try following code in bp-custom.php
add_filter("bp_core_get_user_domain","only_for_root_domain");
function only_for_root_domain($url){
$url_parts=explode("/", $url);
//find the username part
$username=$url_parts[count($url_parts)-2];//the last tocken$root_domain=get_blog_option( BP_ROOT_BLOG, 'home' );
/* If we are using a members slug, include it. */
if ( !defined( 'BP_ENABLE_ROOT_PROFILES' ) )
$domain = $root_domain. '/' . BP_MEMBERS_SLUG . '/' . $username . '/';
else
$domain = $root_domain . '/' . $username . '/';
return $domain;}
here is a pastebin link in case the above code does not et posted

Last time I remember it working was 20th june, after that it completely stopped working.@jeffsayre
Thanks for confirming Jeff. That’s great.
I am looking forward to it as I have a few plugins which I am developing exclusively for 1.3 branch and do not want to break it before even completeing
@JJJ
These changes are not committed to trunk(for 1.3). Can you please confirm the changes will be committed to the 1.3 trunk and whenIn reply to: Add a Link to Groups Directory Page Menu?Since the tabs are loaded via ajax, you have two options.
1.Write an appropriate filter to send the response via ajax
2. Or just make the group tabs use non ajax loading
here is how you do the second
Edit the line in your groups/index.php
<div class=”item-list-tabs”>
and make it
<div class=”item-list-tabs no-ajax”>It should work.
In reply to: How to remove the WP widgets from the dashboardTake a look at this one.
https://codex.wordpress.org/Dashboard_Widgets_APISpecially the section which describes how to remove the widget from dashboard.
You might want to put your code in bp-custom.php/as a plugin so that it affects all the blogs on your network(if you have allowed multiblog) otherwise just putting them in functions.php of your theme will suffice.@stwc

@mikepratt
In that case, you will have to cap on “bp_core_get_root_domain”, as this is what used by the userlink.`
add_filter(“bp_core_get_root_domain”,”my_site_url”);//just removing the effect of BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG on the urls
`
This will do things like change all the references of sub blog used by buddypress to point to main site not the sub blog. I hope it helps
ooh, As I guessed, author url uses get_option(‘home’)
So, we will not need any extra code, just adding another filter will do the trick using our very first function.
`add_filter(“option_home”,”my_site_url”);we are using the old function, just adding to work it for the home url too.
and I hope your filtering user domain is not causing any issue.hi Mike
The problem with the author url is, it is generated by wordpress. Let me take a look at it, there must be someway to get over that too.
The problem with the unified url is a trouble as wordpress uses 3/4 options settings for that (home,wpurl,siteurl,url), an interesting thing will be if we just cap all of them.Let me take a look at the author url, will be posting again soon

Have you upgraded your wordpress Mu to wpmu 2.9.2 or you are using the old version of wpmu below 2.9.
For now, you can simply rename wp-content/buddypress and you will be able to access the wp-admin. Let us know about your current configuration in details as mentioned here
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/when-asking-for-supporthi Mike
For setting the user domain, bp calls following function
bp_core_get_user_domain() and It has a filter bp_core_get_user_domain, but I am little hesitant to change something with this, as It may affect the other behaviors. Please check that function and bp_core_setup_globals() for more.As far as I think, please check again and make sure you have not enabled the Multiblog mode(sometimes we may do it for testing an forget,specially my own experience), the subdomains in the userdomain is mostly a result of enabling multiblog mode.
Hope that helps
hi Mike
If I understand your situation correctly, here is a quick and simple fix
/* site url uses get_option (siteurl), just filter on the option*/
add_filter(“option_siteurl”,”my_site_url”);
function my_site_url(){
return get_blog_option(1,’home’);/* return the url of the main site*/
}btw, profile will only point to yoursite.com/subsite/members/usersname if the BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG is defined somewhere, otherwise user profile will alwys point to the main site.
The trick above, makes the heder urls(like members/groups/sitename) etc to link back to the main site not the sub blog. Hope that helps.In reply to: Profile Button in Navigation (Again)

I have modified your code.
http://bpdev.pastebin.com/tFENajNf
Just copy it back to your header.php and should work.In reply to: Adding a Profile Button to Navigationhey no problem

Have you already created a child theme, if yes, just create header.php and put the following code in your child theme’s header.php
http://bpdev.pastebin.com/PMiZRcZNThen activate your child theme and everything should work.
let me know if it works or not.In reply to: Adding a Profile Button to Navigation@richard1987 @sofastop you are most welcome:)
For no highlighting the members tab and just highlighting the “My profile” tab, we will need to modify the header.php.
Please create a child theme and copy the header from bp-default to your child theme.
Then edit it and change line no 57 where the code saysto
Edit: Seems the code did not pass. Posting on pastebin again
http://bpdev.pastebin.com/GCxK3i0yI hope, the code passes through the forum.
In reply to: Function Detailshi try this plugin for redirecting to profile page after login
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-redirect-to-profile/
It should work with single wp too, if it does not, please let me know, I will update the plugin.For clicking on home link, please create a child theme, copy the header.php from bp-default to your child theme and modify it.
Change the line which says Home in the navigation, It’s anchor url to bp_loggedin_user_domain() from site_url().Hope that helps.

Hi, Please take a look at the second code, It will allow you linking while retaining the buddypress style. I had forgot to put the li elements, so, corrected in the 2nd link.
Hope that helps.
Thanks
