    @agrundner @anointed @mercime @finni3
    Thank you all :)
    @stwc
    That’s a little more complex as I guess It involves two things(programmatically auto creation of groups(easy) and then Andy seems to be using Group Extension API,group meta for achieving the review functionality, and may be a modified plugin which already does the review and rating). I hope, Andy is going to make it available, if not, obviously we can achieve the same, perhaps I will do something similar for one of my site in near future and will let you know :)

    @apeatling, you solution is easy, but I was doing it for a theme, so I had to consider generalized case when we don’t know which components will be active and which won’t, That’s why I used the do_action/add action approach. Further If you want to change the order of display of search result for components, It will be just a matter of changing the priority in the add action.
    @r-a-y, haha you were perfectly right :)

    hi
    sorry for delayed reply.
    You can put it in your theme or just create bp-custom.php in your wp-content/plugins and put the above code.
    I am posting it on pastebin for you(the forum post ate my code ).
    http://bpdev.pastebin.com/FSm7VQ2L

    It will work if you are using the buddypress default theme or a theme which supports buddypress standard theme action.
    Please let us know if you are using bp-default or not.

    Thanks

    Put this in your functions.php.
    `
    add_action(“bp_nav_items”,”show_user_link”);
    function show_user_link(){
    if(!is_user_logged_in())
    return;
    ?>
    <a href="”>MY Profile
    <?php

    }
    That should do it.

    Edit: Please DO NOT USE THE CODE above, this forum has eaten the code, so that’s not going to work. Please see my post blow with the pestabin link.

    Sure, why not. Let me get it from my theme, may be it will take a little time for me to separate it, will be posting here again.
    @thekmen
    Thanks :)

    @el_terko Thanks :) It is coming soon, I am still in the process of power packing it with customizable features for developers :)

    @r-a-y Thanks Ray, you are the rocking mod here :) , No, I have not handled the case of pagination, but not checked that too(there were very few results on my test install), so May be I can add some more test post and will check that. Hopefully that should work or if it does not work, a slight change in ‘bpmag_global_search_qs’ can make that work. Btw, there are links below the search results for each component to let you see the component search page. It’s something like I saw on some social networks and thought to implement for my BP.

    @bowromir hey Bowe, that’s great :) Yes, I mentioned it in the tutorial. The layout code was from my theme bp-mag which is slightly different from bp-defult.. That’s why you may see some differences(and obviously I have not supplied any css and left it upto the developers)

    The point was, have it in your theme and mod it as you want, that’s the reason I did not pack it as a plugin(as I promised in one of my posts 2 week ago on the site).

    here is your code
    http://buddydev.com/http//buddydev.com/public-download/unified-search.zip
    Put the code of functions.php in your functions.php and move the single-search.php and search-loop.php to your theme.
    You may check more details on my site here.
    http://buddydev.com/buddypress/creating-the-sitewide-globalunified-search-page-for-your-buddypress-theme/

    @mods: hope I am not doing anything wrong, but if you feel it inappropriate linking my own site, please feel free to edit this post :)

    Edit: Sorry, the initial download link was incorrect

    Either .htaccess or if that is uncomfortable, you can use some code and checkout for referrer at any of the wordpress actions like “wp” or “init” or anything else. Check for the original referrer and then redirect if the origin is not your site.

    I had done it for one of my premium themes and I am in the process of publishing a tutorial too(Still incomplete). It is simple and can be achieved via theme itself, no plugin is required. No mod to your theme(other than adding a blank template file with a do action).
    Let me know if you guys want, I will put the code on the pastabin.
    Btw, My solutions hooks on the top of bp-functions, so there is no need to create a form(It will just take the bp form and hide the drop down),

    ok, I see you are viewing your own profile. I am not aware of your site.
    So, replace yoursite.com with your site name in the link and try this link

    http://yoursite.com/groups

    I mean append “/groups” in the url of your site and you will see the group directory.You can create groups from the group directory link. There should be option for that.

    hey Boone, you got me :)
    Yes, the operative is the line which @boonebgeorges mentioned. But the file is itself more versatile than the default bp-register.php to allow you show all the profile field groups fields and so on.
    Must check line 157 to 160.
    But for sarah’s case, that is not required :)

    @sagelives Try deactivating and activating forum for the group again(from Group->admin->settings), sometime It happens, If it is not solved, please do provide errorlog

    @supermario
    It is not available in the wp-admin. Check the front end of your site. If you are using bp-default theme, you will see a group link in the top menu . Click on that and you will see options to create.

    hey @r-a-y :) no prob.
    @scotm looking forward to hear if it works or not.

    that’s easy to do. I had posted a solution for showing all the fields from all the profile groups on a buddypress install which is here
    http://bpdev.pastebin.com/RLreXE7X

    You just need to modify the while loop, well, I have already modified it.
    here you go

    Let me know if it works for you or not

    hi @r-a-y is_site_admin() and is_admin() are very different. is_admin() checks whether you are inside wordpress admin or not.
    @scotm
    How about making the activity of admin user private
    `add_filter(“bp_activity_hide_sitewide_before_save”,”make_admin_activity_private”,10,2);
    function make_admin_activity_private($hide_sitewide,$activity){
    //get the current activity
    if(current_user_can(‘manage_options’))//user is admin
    return 1;
    else
    return $hide_sitewide;

    }
    `
    Hopefully the code goes through this forum.

    No prob :)
    Please Go to your site. When you are logged in and are visiting the group directory[Yoursite->groups] you will see an option to create Group.
    create group and you will see the option to enable/disable forum while creating group.
    If you have existing group, go to group page->Click on Admin button, In the settings submenu you will see the option to enable enable/disable forum.
    hope it helps.

    hi Mika
    As Jeff says above, you have done everything correctly.

    In buddypress forums are associated with groups. To enable forum for a group, go to any group->admin->settings and enable forum for the group.
    You don’t need to do anything with forum setup, as forum is already setup correctly. Just go and enable it for groups.

    Use FTP and Rename the plugin buddypress-links to something else.
    Your site will be back.
    @MrMaz will be in a better position to answer the error, but It is most probably related to the loading order of components.

    @sagelives
    Can you provide the error log. That can help to resolve the issue for you.
    @quirhijn
    It means forum is working well for you. Yes, that is normal. Once setup is complete you will always see “forum is successfully installed, if you have trouble….” message.
    To disable activity commenting on forum post, go to wp-admin->BuddyPress->general settings.
    And if you are expecting a forum backend, Internal bbpress setup for buddypress does not provide that.

    I guess It is correct. Go , create groups and check forum is active or not, that would be the best thing for you.

    If you are on wordpress, yourposts/pages will have pretty permalinks, like yoursite.com/category/post-title-name instead of yoursite.com/?p=12433 etc.
    It is better for you as will give you better SEO and for BP It is required.
    Just change the permalinks from numeric to something else.
    And as far as I remember, all your posts (previous link) will also function without any issue.

    @hnla
    I do run it, and my test box say http://box.dev :) but setting it up on windows is a bit of pain as it requires editing the host file of driver.
    I was just trying to clarify it for @bstats current case, it should(hopefully) be not an issue.

    @sbrajesh

    Participant

    @hnla VHOST is not required for wordpress but is required for wordpress mu/multisite in case you want them to function as subdomain.domain.
    @bstats
    You should do two things and the problem should be solved.
    1. Check Mod_rewrite is enabled or not(as @travel-junkie has pointed). If you are on wamp 2.0, you can left click on the wamp icon(in the quick taskbar, the half cirecle icon)->Slect Apache(from the menu)->Apache Modules->rewrite_module(If it is not having a tick, click over that). Refresh the wordpress page and check is it working or not.
    2.Once mod rewrite is checked you can try enabling/disabling permalink and resave it and Most probably it is going to work.

    hi Boone
    The master feed is still working
    https://buddypress.org/forums/rss.php
    I am still able to see all the updates via that. So I guess, that’s an Intelligent move by @apeatling.
    Yes, It feels a little bit clumsy, but that is just a matter of days until we are going to get accustomed of it.
    My only concern is, whether the users will be able to find relevant groups to post or will just wonder in the so many 100s of Groups.

    For signups, please select the box which says user and blogs can be created.

    To disable blog creation by non logged in user, put this code in your theme’s functions.php or bp-custom.php
    Here is the code on pastebin(current forum has trouble posting code, so i posted it there).
    http://bpdev.pastebin.com/1AyszwQ7

    And the issue with bp-registration-options seems to be of PHP5.
