In reply to: put some conditions and redirection upon login
Hi – doesnt seem to work for me or im doing something wrong:
here is kind of what i am doing:function bp_redirect_to_page()
{
$redirect_url_1 = ‘URL x’;
$redirect_url_2 = ‘URL y’;get some DB values from wp_bp_xprofile_data
if condition==x
bp_core_redirect($redirect_url_1);
else
bp_core_redirect($redirect_url_2);
}
/*Add an action to redirect user after login*/
add_action(“wp_login”,”bp_redirect_to_page”,100,0);this doesnt seem to change anything.
any other tips or why this is not working?In reply to: put some conditions and redirection upon loginok – i think i got the idea – i will try later today and will let you know.
Thanks!In reply to: put some conditions and redirection upon login@techguy
one other question – can you give me examples of where you actually used this action?In reply to: put some conditions and redirection upon loginCheers – I will give that a shot.
In reply to: put some conditions and redirection upon loginWhat i want to do is something else:
for example as soon as someone logs in i want to run a query in the db to check for specific values.
if the value is X continue to home page
if the value is Y continue to a different page.where would be the best place to set this code?
In reply to: put some conditions and redirection upon loginbumping – anyone?
In reply to: pages not found after server migrationIt is now resolved. there was no .htaccess in the root.
i created it manualy with the rewrite rules and now everything is working.
Thanks for your help!!!Shai
In reply to: pages not found after server migrationI was not using the custom structure:
/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
i did try already changing to default but the result is the same.In reply to: pages not found after server migrationThis is what I am seeing in the Apache error log file:
File does not exist: /home/athcrash/public_html/groups, referer: http://athleticrash.com/In reply to: pages not found after server migration@r-a-y
this didn’t help – i had to reactivate all the plugins but it didnt change anything.
The homepage wasnt a problem as i could access it. the problem is other tabs such as members, groups etc.
Any other ideas?Thanks,
Shai
In reply to: pages not found after server migrationbtw – i did check and my mod_rewrite on apache is enabled. any other place i should look at?

In reply to: DB migrationThanks – I will test it out
In reply to: enabling forums on buddypressthat worked – thanks!!
ok. i found that one and fixed it.
here is the solution:
in the same ajax.php file there is function called:
bp_dtheme_ajax_joinleave_group
I duplicated this function and replaced the string group with event throughout the entire function.
Seems to do the trick

Thanks,
Shai
ok – i got the hang of it and its working!!!
one more thing – when i am in the directory page (events-loop) i have the join event button next to each event.
when i click on it it disappears and nothing happens (its not joining the event) and when i refresh the button is back there (it is working fine from within the event). Have you noticed that?
seems similar to the first problem (is there another ajax call for that?)
Thanks for your help!!!!
Shai
Hi,
Thanks but I still have a question.
the events-loop doesnt reside under bp-sn-parent.
it is under bp-default inside an events folder.
i tried copying the ajax.php to the same location where it is in the bp-sn-parent and changed the method like you said referencing the right path to the events-loop.
this had no affect at all. where are these methods called from – maybe if i know that it will make it easier.
Thanks,
Shai
In reply to: multiselectbox not workingPlease let me know what you are trying to achieve and I will try to help if I can understand
ok i’ll try to explain what i did.
when you install the plugin in its original form is it called bp-example so i will stick to that naming convention.
under wp-content/plugins you have the folder called bp-example with all the files in it (class, templatetags etc).
under wp-content/plugins you also have a file called bp-example.php
(if you put these two in place you can activate the bp-example plugin without making any changes).
anyways, I created my form inside bp-example.php
my form started with something like that:
<form id=”form1″ name=”form1″ action=”<?php bp_example_do_something() ?>” method=”post”>
rest of form is here etc
later i have the submit button to submit the form etc.
once you submit the form it calls the function in the action. this function is in bp-example-temlatetags.php that is in the bp-example folder.
inside this function you can use the $_POST and do whatever you want with your POST variables.
hope this helps.
Thanks,
Shai
Hi,
With the skeleton plugin what I did was create the DB access stuff (the basic create, some inserts etc) in the classes file.
then most of my functions are in the templatetags file (some also access/insert/update the db).
the form is in the main plugin php file (resides under wp-content/plugins) and it calls all the necessary files.
when you post the data in the form and then call a specific function to do the processing you can access the form variables using $_POST (that is in case you use post in your form).
If you need more help or having specific questions let me know. I am not a big expert but I got several plugins created using the skeleton and if its working…dont touch it

ok – another shot –
can someone zip and send me a working bp-events folders that he is running?
I would like to see if there are any code differences.
e-mail is shaisimchi@gmail.com
Thanks,

Just one more thing here.
I just did a clean install of wpmu 2.8.6 and then bp 1.1.3
i installed bp-events (what’s available on trunk) without any other plugins so totally clean installation no customizations what so ever and I still get the same results i described in initial post.
Please help!!!!!
bumping this – any ideas anyone?
if someone has a working (unchanged) copy of this plugin i’d love to get the zip to so i can try.
Thanks,
Shai
In reply to: bp-events, directory not workingHi,
I’d really appreciate some help here.
I have bp-events istalled on a bp 1.1.3 and events search is not working – not through the widget and not when I click a specific letter in the directory.
what i got for any of them is blank results (not even saying no events were found etc.),
I tried all your suggestions here such as downloading from trunk, deactivating the plugin and then activating again but nothing seems to be working for me.
this is getting quite urgent for me as I have some deadlines around that so help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Shai
