In reply to: [Resolved] Remove GRAVATAR completelyIn reply to: Make a AJAX button to call a function
There are lots of examples re using ajax and WP via google.
Here’s two:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Action_Reference/wp_ajax_(action)
http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2011/10/18/how-to-use-ajax-in-wordpress/In reply to: insert data in xprofile fieldUse this hook and write a function in bp-custom.php
do_action_ref_array( 'xprofile_data_after_save', array( &$this ) );See the hook at ~Line 811 in bp-xprofile/bp-xprofile-classes.php
In reply to: Better group description – html support etc.Thank you for your interest in our premium plugins.
I will email you directly. In reply to: Better group description – html support etc.In reply to: Filter list of profiles on Member Pages2member has functions for looking up the ‘level’ of a logged in user.
Use their functions rather than WP functions.
Consult their documentation.
Or, since you have the Pro version, use their support system.Maybe I’m wrong.
The best way to tell what you’re getting is to var_dump in your filter function. It does receive an array.
“…for each item you get an array that has 2 elements- the li code as a string and $user_nav_item.”In reply to: My GroupsEach member page already has a ‘Groups’ tab.
Clicking on it shows the groups that member belongs to.In reply to: Welcome Message for Users comes from Hosting'>how were you able to find my user name?
Look at all your entries on this thread – below your ‘avatar’ and above Participant.
Re security – you mean using it in a function name? No.
In reply to: How can i add query_var to custom buddypress page?Look at $bp->action_variables array
In reply to: Welcome Message for Users comes from Hosting'Put these functions in your theme/functions.php file
and adjust the return values as necessary…function dasfx3_new_mail_from_name($old) { return 'FilmMakers'; } add_filter('wp_mail_from_name', 'dasfx3_new_mail_from_name'); function dasfx3_new_mail_from($old) { return 'support@filmmakersallianceburlington.com'; } add_filter('wp_mail_from', 'dasfx3_new_mail_from');The ‘Home’ tab of each group shows an Activity stream where you can post updates and other gourp members can comment on them, iow. chat
Do you have the BP Activity component activated?
You can also create a forum for each group via the ‘Manage’ tab.
From what I recall, BP uses the bp_xprofile_data table to store the display name, field_id = 1, for each user.
There is a BP setting for syncing BP and WP profiles.
Some info on what that does:
https://buddypress.org/support/topic/please-help-me-understand-a-wordpressbp-feature/#post-97470Re profile edit handling code: Look at function save() in class BP_XProfile_ProfileData in bp-xprofile\bp-xprofile-classes.php
>Is there a way to pre-filter these before the ‘<l1>…‘ is setup?
afaik, no.
The filter hook is in a foreach loop.
So you for each item you get an array that has 2 elements- the li code as a string and $user_nav_item.So your function could do a string replace on the li item and then echo the result.
Or use $user_nav_item, except for ‘name’ and create your own li item and then echo the result. In reply to: How to fetch list of join groupYou’ll probably have to write a custom mysql query.
Take at look at functions like get_group_ids() in bp-groups -> bp-groups-classes.php to get hints on writing your query.Since you have ‘Suggested Groups’, take at look at that code too.
In reply to: How to fetch list of join groupUntested, try this:
http://pastebin.com/khFMNsKPIf on a member page, you can change bp_loggedin_user_id() to bp_displayed_user_id()
In reply to: buddypress private group is not visible in bbpress>here is the thing. the group doesn’t make a forum.
You need to navigate to the group, on the front-end of the site,
then select Manage
then select Forum
then select ‘Yes. I want this group to have a forum.’
and leave ‘Group Forum’ set to (No Forum)
and a forum will be created for you.
The forum will have the same name as the group.Glad you got it working.
You can certainly create a forum yourself and then assign it to the group.
Just wanted to add the info above in case somebody else reads this thread. In reply to: Create a groupIn reply to: Issue with w3 Total Cache@agengineering
> the minify file generates an errorPlease share the exact error.
In reply to: buddypress private group is not visible in bbpressSo you created a private group call ‘vip’.
And added a forum to that group via ‘[your-site-url]/groups/vip/admin/forum/’
And added some members to the forum via
wp-admin/admin.php?page=bp-groups -> Edit – Add New MembersAnd those added members cannot see the vip forum listed when visiting
‘[your-site-url]/forums/’ – correct? In reply to: BBpress post edit causes multiple activity entries.Confirmed.
Ticket created.
https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2690In reply to: Group creation settings blankThe template for that page is:
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\groups\create.phpIn reply to: Group creation settings blankI suspect a theme issue.
[ I cannot recreate this issue with WP 4, BP 2.1, standard WP theme ]You’re using BuddyBoss theme – your issue is best addressed to them.
Some hints:
Looking at the page source you provided, several things are missing.
No ul tags, li is opened but not closed, etc.
The form appears but the fields do not. This is how the first step form fields should appear – compare it to yours.
