Yes, of course. Tell them about the _meta table. There are a few rows re visibility for each field. Have them dump out your test field so they can see the required keys and adjust accordingly.
Do you have this issue for profile fields that you did create or populate with the NADI plugin?
If not, use a database tool like phpmyadmin and check the visibility settings for that field id – those settings are in the _bp_xprofile_meta table. In reply to: Help with profiles and groups. What happens when you use a WP theme like 2019?
If your issues are specific to certain themes, then you should contact the creator of those themes.
In reply to: Request: comment IconThose icons are not part of BuddyPress, afaik.
They are part of your theme or some other plugin.
Find out where they are coming from and either replace them on your own or discuss it with the icon creators. In reply to: PHP critical errorsAs shown in your log, those errors come from the buddypress-followers plugin – not from BuddyPress.
You should talk to the creators of the buddypress-followers plugin and show the error log to them.In reply to: Disable All Notifications on Private SiteExactly? I don’t know. I don’t know why or when notifications are getting through.
As I suggested, take a look at$objwhen the filter is fired.
You may need to hire a dev.In reply to: Disable All Notifications on Private SiteHave you tried using a filter?
Some variation of this: https://codex.buddypress.org/emails/filter-emails/I have not tried it, but you could probably check some field in the
$objand then conditionally kill the email based on your needs.
Or just use the filter to kill it.In reply to: No “add friend” or messaging buttonsI’ve not heard about issues on siteground.
And I cannot duplicate your issue on an install using php 7.2.Don’t have any further suggestions at this time.
In reply to: No “add friend” or messaging buttonsVery odd behaviour.
May as well try removing the child theme functions and deactivating any plugins other than BP.In reply to: No “add friend” or messaging buttonsWhen you switch template packs, does the general appearance of the profile pages change?
If not, then something other than BP is controlling the templates.also – do you have the BP messaging component turned on?
In reply to: Make MyGroups the default directory listingThanks for the follow-up and the gist!
Remember – you can always add a page to the codex too.In reply to: No “add friend” or messaging buttonsWhile using the 2019 theme, try switching the BP template pack.
wp-admin > Settings > BuddyPress > Options > Template PackMake sure at least one of your members is a subscriber.
Log in as that member. Test. That’s because the function makes a call to another function that calls a class function that has a param that defaults to ‘only new’.
Open:
buddypress\bp-notifications\classes\class-bp-notifications-notification.php
and look at the args forpublic static function get( $args = array() )Untested, but try:
$notifications = BP_Notifications_Notification::get( array( 'user_id' => get_current_user_id(), 'is_new' => 'both' ) );In reply to: No “add friend” or messaging buttonsIt may be a theme issue.
Try switching momentarily to a WP theme like 2019 and test for the issue. In reply to: Group is not workingBP groups are only related to bbPress in that you can give a group a bbpress forum.
Group invites are not related to bbPress.Did you activate BP network-wide or just on a sub-site ?
In reply to: Events / Meetup plugin suggestions?Re BuddyPress Simple Events Pro…
Any group member can assign an event to that group –
IF the group admin has selected that option –
IF the site admin allows group admins to select that option. The free version does not support group assignment, but will give you a feel for the very simple nature of the plugin – as opposed to the ‘feature rich’ nature of other event plugins.
Sounds like you have some custom code or another plugin that is doing that redirect.
It is not standard BP behavior.
But if you are an admin and in wp-admin, it will take you to your profile in wp-admin, so test the issue as a subscriber and from the front end.In reply to: Remove the “Comment” step when joining a groupWow, that is annoying. Never noticed it before.
imo – the simplest approach is to add some js to submit the form as soon as it appears.
Add this to your theme > functions.php or bp-custom.php
function pp_submit_request_form() { ?> <script type="text/javascript"> jQuery(document).ready(function ($) { $('#group-request-send').click(); }); </script> <?php } add_action( 'bp_after_group_request_membership_content', 'pp_submit_request_form' );And you could remove or replace the comment field that is briefly visible by editing the template.
If you’re using the BP Legacy template pack, overload and then edit this file:
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\groups\single\request-membership.php>im using geodirectory events plugin
You cannot ‘marge’ it with another plugin.
Your questions are specific to the geodirectory events plugin.
Please direct your questions to the support team for that plugin. In reply to: User Activation is not workingThose errors are not coming from the BuddyPress plugin.
They are coming from the buddypress-notifications-manager plugin.
For example:
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/global74/public_html/cursos/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-notifications-manager/loader.php:77) in /home/global74/public_html/cursos/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 920You should deactivate that plugin and contact the creators of that plugin with your questions.
That button does not appear on a profile.
It should appear here: https://meroaawaz.com/community/groups/In reply to: Remove the “Comment” step when joining a groupIn a standard BP install, there is no “Comment” step when joining a group.
Your site has added that behavior via your theme, some other plugin or some custom code.In reply to: Notifications settingsIf you are using the Legacy template pack, this is the file:
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\members\single\settings\notifications.phpFor the Nouveau pack, it is:
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-nouveau\buddypress\members\single\settings\notifications.phpIn reply to: Allow members to search by filtersWhat does
profile filtersmean?
Profile fields ?
If so, perhaps a profile fields search plugin is what you want.In reply to: Need help with Mass Invite Settings changeIf you have access to phpmyadmin, it is quite easy.
First – make a backup of your database
Then go to the
...bp_groups_metadatabase table.Each group will have a row with a
meta_keycalledinvite_status.
And you are saying that themeta_valuefor those rows isadmins. But you want that meta_value to be
members.
Perhaps your version of phpmyadmin has a search & replace tool.
If so, these are the settings you need:
