    Please use the code button when posting code.

    Did you read the codex page re the members loop?

    You cannot add custom parameters to the loop.
    You can write a custom query to gather all the member ids that fit your criteria and then pass those ids into the include parameter of the members loop.

    Go to your wp-admin screen. Then go to Settings > BuddyPress > Components

    If you cannot go to your wp-admin screen, then you have a major WP problem and probably need to install everything from scratch.

    Please do not double post.
    Your duplicate post on this topic has been deleted.

    Members will not appear on the members page until they have logged in at least once after signing up.

    Where are you seeing the creation dates?

    afaik, BP does show the last activity date, but does not show the creation date.

    If you are seeing it, find the custom code that shows it and make adjustments.

    So you want a custom link that only appears when the user is not logged in, correct ?

    That is not specific to BP.

    Have you tried searching for WordPress solutions?
    It’s a much bigger codebase.

    What makes you think BP is adding that login link?
    Did you try going to wp-admin > Appearance > Menus and adjusting the url for that link ?

    Probably a conflict with other javascript on your site.
    Did you check your browser’s console for javascript errors?
    Did you try switching momentarily to a WP theme like 2017 and retesting to see if there is a conflict in your theme?
    Did you try deactivating other plugins and retesting?

    afaik, BuddyPress does not add that text or links to the registration page or widget.

    Find out how that text and links were added to the screen and you’ll know how to edit them.
    Maybe the logy-register-widget? Whatever the f@ck that is.

    I think a good enhancement would be for this hook to pass some data: bp_core_general_settings_after_save
    Currently, there is no way to tell if there were errors.
    The same issue is found in the other files in bp-settings/actions/

    You can open an enhancement ticket here.
    Use the same login info you use for these forums.
    Include a reference to this thread in the ticket description.

    Please use the code button when posting code.

    …it’s not printing anything

    That hook is found in a function that has a redirect after the hook, so you cannot dump to the screen.
    Trying writing to a debug log or actually changing something with your function.

    But more importantly – the settings code is not the same as the profile fields code.
    I apologize for not noticing that you said general settings and not profile fields in your OP.

    Try using this hook for Settings > General: bp_core_general_settings_after_save
    Found in bp-settings/actions/general.php
    Note that it does not pass any data – so you’ll need to get the data from $_POST.
    And the hook is followed by a redirect, so you cannot print to screen.

    You may want to check this bug.

    What bug?

    …there were missing profile data on the bp_xprofile_data

    What data was missing?
    How were the users created?

    What are the steps to recreate the issue you may have seen?

    @shanebp

    Moderator

    I can confirm this bug. And it is not specific to a Template Pack.
    Some formatting is lost : afaik, the 3 alignment options and the numbered and bullet lists.

    I believe this is due to the allowed tags array used by BP.
    Those tags are not allowed and therefore are stripped when edits are saved.

    The allowed tags need to be altered to allow those tags.
    Or filtered to allow those tags when profile edits are saved and a Multi-Line Text Area field is present.

    Please open a bug ticket here.
    Please reference this thread in your bug description.
    Use the same login that you use for these forums.

    Yes. Or bp-custom.php

    For new users created via wp-admin, try:

    add_action( 'user_register', 'weg_bp_registration_save', 10, 1 );
    function weg_bp_registration_save( $user_id ) {
    	bp_update_user_last_activity( $user_id, bp_core_current_time() );
    }

    @shanebp

    So, I need to leave this code, right?

    No, remove it as instructed.

    For each new signup that is not created via wp-admin, try this:

    function weg_after_bp_registration_add_activity( $user_id, $user_login, $user_password, $user_email, $usermeta ) {
         bp_update_user_last_activity( $user_id, bp_core_current_time() );
    }
    add_action( 'bp_core_signup_user', 'weg_after_bp_registration_add_activity', 1, 5 );

    Use this hook: xprofile_updated_profile
    More info in /bp-xprofile/screens/edit.php ~Line 127

    Unless your issue is reproducible by BP devs, it is nigh impossible to suggest a fix.

    To narrow down the possible sources of the issue…

    Have you tried momentarily switching to a WP theme like 2017 ?

    Have you tried deactivating all other plugins and, if the issue goes away, then activating them one at a time? It’s a real pain, but often the only way to identify the source of a conflict.

    Have you tried switching the BP template pack under Settings > BP > Options ?

    Have you tried turning on WP_DEBUG and then checking your error log ?

    For the logged in user, you can use ‘me’ as the user name.
    For example: yoursite.com/members/me/profile/edit/
    should load the Profile > Edit screen for the logged in user.

    Use the per_page parameter. More info.

    Then you need to do the basic debug to try an isolate the issue.

    • Turn on WP_DEBUG and try to reg and then check the error log
    • Switch to a WP theme like 2017 – if you can then reg, the issue is related to your theme
    • Then try deactivating other plugins – if you can then reg, reactivate plugins one at a time until a reg fails

    What plugin are you using to upload video and music ?
    You should talk to the creators of that plugin about your issue.
