In reply to: How to view pending signup profile fields
Place only the code from the gist into your bp-custom file.
In reply to: How to view pending signup profile fieldsPlace it in bp-custom.php
Then it won’t matter which theme you use.In reply to: how to review user fields pending approvalIn reply to: How to view pending signup profile fieldsUse this filter hook:
apply_filters( 'bp_members_signup_custom_column', '', $column_name, $signup_object );
Found at the bottom of:buddypress\bp-members\classes\class-bp-members-list-table.phpIn reply to: bp_ajax_querystring filter not runingbtw – the example function I posted above works to exclude on ajax search too – at least for me.
In reply to: bp_ajax_querystring filter not runingJust guessing…
Instead of a filter, try using the action hook:add_action( 'bp_legacy_theme_ajax_querystring', 'sbpp04_hide_from_ajax_search', 50, 2 );https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/function-examples/bp_ajax_querystring/
In reply to: Remove Member Directory Without Profile ErrorThis function will redirect everyone, other than site administrators, to the home page when they try and access the members directory.
Put it in bp-custom.php.function grim_members_directory() { if ( bp_is_members_directory() && ! is_super_admin() ) bp_core_redirect( site_url() ); } add_action( 'bp_ready', 'grim_members_directory' );In reply to: buddypress plugin leads to 508 errorA 508 error indicates that your site has reached the resource limit.
You could talk to your hosting provider about getting more resources.
Or you can google ‘buddypress 508 error’ – there is a lot of info available.
For example: https://buddypress.org/support/topic/plugin-buddy-press-leads-to-error-508-what-to-do/Try this in bp-custom.php
function sg_gettext( $translated, $original_text, $domain ) { if ( 'buddypress' !== $domain ) return $translated; switch ( $original_text ) { case 'Add Friend': return 'Something Else'; default: return $translated; } } add_filter( 'gettext', 'sg_gettext', 20, 3 );http://hookr.io/functions/bp_add_friend_button/

In reply to: General Usage QuestionEach group has the option to have an associated forum.
Groups can be public, private or hidden.
There can also be site-wide or ‘general’ forums.Forums require the use of an additional plugin: bbPress.
I also want people who are workshop leaders to be able to see and post to any forum.
You make them members of all groups.
If you’d rather not, then you’ll need to write some custom code.In reply to: Adding Friends to Groups‘Friends’ is a relationship between registered WP users.
Not Groups & Users.You can extend the Groups component to handle different concepts of Friends, but you’ll need coding skills. Use the Group Extension API.
And then collect all group member ids and then purchases made by those ids.
It’s not difficult to do, but you will need coding skills and an understanding of BP groups and WooCommerce.
If you don’t have those skills, you can post a job here.
In reply to: bp_ajax_querystring filter not runingAJAX search involves javascript – that is probably the issue.
There might be a way to accomplish your task via that filter… if you find it, please share it here.For blocking aka exclude, I use this action hook:
bp_pre_user_query_constructFor you, try something like:
function fencer_members_query( $query_array ) { $exclude_ids = // collect all the member ids that don't want to appear, as an array if ( ! empty( $exclude_ids ) ) $query_array->query_vars['exclude'] = $exclude_ids; } add_action( 'bp_pre_user_query_construct', 'fencer_members_query', 1, 1 );In reply to: bp_ajax_querystring filter not runingbp_ajax_querystring is… complicated.
Perhaps there is another approach… What are you trying to filter?
In reply to: bp_ajax_querystring filter not runingJust guessing, but try changing the filter priority from 12 to 10 or maybe 50, etc.
In reply to: Please help me remove the Friends tabDid you try:
function cs_remove_friends_nav() { bp_core_remove_nav_item( bp_friends_slug() ); } add_action( 'bp_setup_nav', 'cs_remove_friends_nav' );In reply to: Custom loop for Groups Member DirectoriesYou need to learn the difference, in any coding lang, between strings and variables.
$excluded_roles = array('administrator','subscriber','customer'); $excluded_args = array( 'role__in' => $excluded_roles, 'fields' => 'ID', ); $excluded_users = get_users( $excluded_args ); $excluded_users = implode(',', $excluded_users);In reply to: Custom loop for Groups Member Directoriesit’s role__in – not role_in
In reply to: Custom loop for Groups Member DirectoriesUse ‘role__in’.

d($included_users);If you want group members, you need to use
bp_group_has_membersnotbp_has_members.Turn on debugging while you trouble-shoot your code.
In reply to: Hiding a forum from the forum listHave you tried it while logged in as something other than site admin?
Or a role that doesn’t have bbPress ‘keymaster’ privs?In reply to: Hiding a forum from the forum listHave you tried setting the forum to Private? Or Hidden?
Go to wp-admin > Forums > Forum Name > Edit > Visibilitybtw – these are the BuddyPress forums.
For support for bbPress you should use their forums.In reply to: First time Buddy Press User and Look Bad on MobileIt is doubtful that anyone will fix your premium theme for you.
Your best bet is to contact the theme creators and explain the issue.
