In reply to: How to update Activation link
Please don’t double post. Your other thread has been deleted.
Unless you are specifically using the bp-default theme, you should create a template overload of this file:
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\members\activate.php
And make your changes there.In reply to: Need to show group as DropDown on Group pageSo instead of a listing of all the groups, you want a dropdown?
Create a template overload of this file:
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\groups\groups-loop.php
And replace the listing layout with a dropdown.In reply to: Registration Page Formatting IssueTemplate overloads go in the theme dir, not the plugins dir.
Remove your changes to BP plugin and re-read the codex article.In reply to: Registration Page Formatting IssueCreate a template overload of this file:
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\members\register.php
and adjust the layout.In reply to: Copy data to wp_usermeta on profile saveLook at
function delete()andfunction save()in
buddypress\bp-xprofile\classes\class-bp-xprofile-profiledata.php
You’ll find before and after action hooks that you can use to delete or save profile data to usermeta.In reply to: Activity StreamLooks like a problem in your theme.
Try switching to a theme such as WP 2015 to confirm.Can you create a topic in a group forum front-end if you created the group?
Are the Forum Attribute settings ‘Forum, Open, Public’ in wp-admin > Forums > [some forum] ?
Did you check the settings here: /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=bbpress ?
Are you running any plugins that affect roles / permissions / capabilities ?
Does the same problem occur in a site-wide public forum?
Are you talking about Group Forums or site-wide forums?
Are you aware of the bbPress support site?
In reply to: [Resolved] Groups function is brokenIf you’re using phpMyAdmin –
Go to the table, select ‘Structure’, select ‘Change’ for the row ‘id’.
Look thru the options for ‘Auto Increment’ – it may be a checkbox labeledA_I.In reply to: [Resolved] Groups function is brokenRe group name length: I was just guessing, since I cannot duplicate the error.
‘Vanhat talot’ is short, so that shouldn’t be the issue.So you created a group – and the id was 0, correct ?
Then the next group failed due to the duplicate entry 0, correct ?
If so, then the group id field is not being auto-incremented.The enable_forum field should be 0 if you did not select ‘I want a forum’ when you created the group.
If you did select ‘I want a forum’, which version of bbPress are you using?In reply to: [Resolved] Groups function is brokenit creates a group in to the database with id 0
That’s the first thing to solve. The
idshould be auto-incremented.There have been some non-BP reports re WP 4.2.2
$wpdb->insert_idreturning 0.How many characters are in your group title?
I didn’t know where you were loading the code.
Using thebp_loadedhook allows you to run it from bp-custom.php.In reply to: Groups no longer workingCan you create groups on the backend?
/wp-admin/admin.php?page=bp-groupsMay not be the best way, but try:
function add_group_tab() { if ( class_exists( 'BP_Group_Extension' ) ) : class members_nav_tab_in_group extends BP_Group_Extension { function __construct() { if( bp_is_group_single() ) { $bp = buddypress(); $group_id = $bp->groups->current_group->id; if( $group_id == 1 ) { $args = array( 'slug' => '../../members', 'name' => 'Members Directory', 'nav_item_position' => 105, ); parent::init( $args ); } } } } bp_register_group_extension( 'members_nav_tab_in_group' ); endif; } add_action( 'bp_loaded', 'add_group_tab' );In reply to: Buddypress Plugin all files inactive troubleshootingSounds like an ajax conflict.
Try deactivating all other plugins.
Then activate them one at a time until the problem occurs.In reply to: Buddypress Plugin all files inactive troubleshootingnow it does nothing.
So you can see it.
That means that ‘buddypress/bp-members/bp-members-template.php’ is not inactive.Your description of the problem is so muddled that suggesting a solution is nigh impossible.
Confirm that the issues are not in your theme. Try switching to a standard theme like WP 2013.
In reply to: Sign In page issueLook at the BP templates for guidance on those issues.
For example:
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\members\register.phpIn reply to: Sign In page issuePlease use the
codebutton when sharing code.This is a theme that you are creating?
If not, please ask the theme author.This looks incorrect:

No function is stated. And the closing ‘]’ is missing.In reply to: Buddypress Plugin all files inactive troubleshootingIf buddypress/bp-members/bp-members-template.php is ‘inactive’,
how do you know that ‘the member functions to filter’ are not working?Have you activated all the components?
In reply to: Buddypress Plugin all files inactive troubleshootingall of the plugin files are inactive
What plugin are you talking about?
What do you mean by ‘inactive’?caused all of the member filter functions to stop working
What member filter functions are you talking about?
It sounds like some custom functions are not working properly.
If so, that is an issue with your custom functions – not BP.In reply to: Buddypress creating duplicate tags taxonomyBP does create a member_type taxonomy in bp-core/bp-core-taxonomy.php:
register_taxonomy( 'bp_member_type', 'user', array( 'public' => false, );Maybe that’s what you’re seeing.
This is the BuddyPress support forum.
Try asking your question on the bbPress support forum.In reply to: Buddypress creating duplicate tags taxonomyAre you sure it’s BuddyPress and not bbPress?
In reply to: Automatically delete group after certain dateIt is possible, but will require custom code.
It sounds like you need to delete both the group and the forum for that group.
