In reply to: How to access other members messages ?
The problem may be that
bp_message_thread_has_unread()is hard-coded to check based on the loggedin_user.
Seebp-messages\classes\class-bp_messages-thread.phpIf you remove your
$unreadconditional, you will see all the messages for$UID.To only get unread messages, you may need to use custom sql that starts with the
bp_messages_recipientstable and queries based on theunread_countfield.In reply to: redirect activity linkYou’ll need to provide more info about what you want to do.
Be explicit. On the main activity page, you should see a tab called ‘My Groups’ which will show activity in the groups that the logged-in member belongs to. How is that different from what you want?
In reply to: Gravity Forms Registration ConflictThe usual approach is to identify:
– that the call is truly being over-ridden and not just failing
– the exact form call that is being over-ridden
– the BP call that is over-riding itThen make some adjustments.
Nobody can give you an exact solution because:
– there are far too many variable and unknowns
– this isn’t a gravity forms support siteIn reply to: Gravity Forms Registration ConflictThere is no such ‘tick’ box in BP.
In reply to: Disable group types in Dashboard? There is no GUI option.
In reply to: How to only display specific groups ?Start with the first step: what language is being used?
That is probably a common task and you should be able to find info or code examples. In reply to: How to only display specific groups ?You’ll need to write some conditionals based on knowing the current language.
And need to customize a template overload of this file:
bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\groups\groups-loop.phpSee
function bp_has_groupsinbp-groups\bp-groups-template.phpfor info about the include / exclude group ids parameters re the group loop.In reply to: How to only display specific groups ?You can see the Group ID for each group by going to wp-admin > Groups and rolling over ‘Edit’ for each Group Name.
You’ll see something like:
/wp-admin/admin.php?page=bp-groups&gid=1&action=editIn that string:
gid = group idIn reply to: Groups editing not savingThe plugin needs to be compatible with BuddyPress, not vice versa.
You should contact the plugin author and make that request.

When “Antrodius” logs in, what name does he use?
In reply to: add members to hidden groupYou can add members to any group, hidden or otherwise, by going to Groups > Edit Group in wp-admin.
In reply to: bp_verify_nonce_request() not workingLook at
bp_verify_nonce_requestin this file:
bp-core\bp-core-functions.phpTry writing the results of each step to a log so you get more info on the data being both received and parsed. And thereby find the failure point.
In reply to: BP Pages Have No ContentWhy do your BP urls have ‘index.php’ in them?
http://globalstampclub.com/index.php/members/Read and follow this:
In reply to: Avatar in activity screen brokenIt’s probably something in your theme.
Confirm by switching to one of the WP themes, like 2013.
In reply to: Username displaying as ‘@Admin’ on profileSince the member’s user name is ‘admin’, it will show as ‘@admin’.
You can’t change the user name after registration – unless you go directly into the database via a tool like phpmyadmin.
Or use a plugin like:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/admin-renamer-extended/also – you shouldn’t use ‘admin’ as a user name.

Are you referring to this plugin:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-profile-search/If so, you should use Andrea’s support forum:
https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/bp-profile-search
orYour option could be added, but will require coding ability, afaik.
In reply to: Groups editing not savingSorry, didn’t see recent release.
I’ve installed 2.3.1 and cannot duplicate the issue. In reply to: Groups editing not saving@colabsadmin
There is no BP 2.3.1 version. Are you using trunk?afaik…
Group privacy settings can be changed on the front end via the Group > Manage > Settings screen
Adding members can only be done via wp-adminCan one or more of you turn on WP debugging and check your error log?
In reply to: Group tab questions2. How would I add a extra tab in a group that I can link to a URL?
You need to use the Group Extension API
Since you only want it for one group, you need to check for that group id:
if( bp_get_group_id() == 2 ) bp_register_group_extension( 'Your_Group_Extension_Name' );In reply to: Logged in LinksLogged in Linksare relative to thelogged-in user.
They are the same links you see when rolling over your name in the upper right corner.
So there is noMemberslink. In reply to: BP registration form not creating new usersI wouldn’t use old code.
xampp can be funky for reasons I don’t as yet understand.
I had a different issue with BP on xampp – but the issue doesn’t exist on a public domain.
So you maybe ok when you deploy.Meanwhile, turn on debugging in WP and check your error log.
In reply to: xprofile_insert_field_group() ignoring IDIs it standard behaviour for when a group is deleted via admin the profile data is left orphaned?
Standard? No, but in any relational table, if an item is assigned to a group ID and that group ID no longer exists in the table that holds group IDs, then that data will not be displayed, ie. orphaned.
This function will run on new install or if 0 groups are detected.
Why? BP will always create a Base group.
In reply to: BP registration form not creating new usersI don’t have a solution for you, but I use xampp and have no problems registering as a new user via the BP Registration form. The user is created and I can log in as that user.
In reply to: display recently registered usersThe sql call isn’t returning the user ID.
Change the sql to:
$usernames = $wpdb->get_results("SELECT ID, user_nicename FROM $wpdb->users ORDER BY ID DESC LIMIT 5");Then make this change:
$recentusers .= '<li>' . bp_core_fetch_avatar( array( 'item_id' => $username->ID, 'type' => 'full') ) . '<a href="' . bp_core_get_user_domain($username->ID) .'">' . $username->user_nicename . '</a></li>';In reply to: List groups i am admin ofThere is a BP function for getting the ids of the groups for which you’re an admin:
get_is_admin_ofYou could use it like this:
function my_group_admin_ids() { $my_group_ids = BP_Groups_Member::get_is_admin_of( 1 ); //if your id = 1 foreach( $my_group_ids['groups'] as $group ) { $link = bp_get_group_permalink( $group ); echo '<a href="' . $link .'">' . $group->name . '</a><br/>'; } } add_action( 'bp_before_directory_groups', 'my_group_admin_ids');If you want to create a custom tab to hold that info, you need to create a new li element in a template overload of this file:
\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\groups\index.php
