Hi

I’m new to BP (and amazed at how good it is and that I’ve not come across it before!), but very experienced in WP. I’ve a quick question relating to BP groups to which I likely know the answer. A user can create a public, private or hidden group by default. My Q is:

Is there a way, via the BP dashboard, of disabling/hiding the options for one or more group types? For instance, to prevent the user from creating a Hidden group.

From my Codex and web searching so far the answer would appear to be ‘no’, which is fair enough. The useful thread “Remove Hidden or Public type of group?” which describes using template overriding/overloading shows a quick and easy way to disable group types in code, but before implementing that I just want to make sure that there isn’t a GUI option. I always prefer to use simple non-code solutions if at all possible 🙂
