In reply to: Add Group Category & Cities
It’s possible, but there is no ready-to-use out-of-the-box plugins for that.

https://buddypress.org/support/topic/locationaddress-for-buddypress-groups/In reply to: Remove labels from xprofile editI checked the code – it won’t decrease number of queries. All the data for labels are taken from a global variable, which is set when all fields are populated. So you won’t decrease server load by removing labels.
So you can do that via CSS. There is no other simple solution for that (I’m assuming you are on a BuddyPress 2.4.x). Editing template file won’t help you because of the way the code is structured.
In reply to: Remove Birthday from PublicThere is a setting for this on a screen, where you edit this field: http://take.ms/B1sZI
So just selectEnforce field visibilityand Visibility selectbox change toOnly me.
Thus users (and admin, of course) will be able to see only own field data, with no ability to see other users birthdays.In reply to: queries on postingUse
@usernamefor each user you want to mention in a blog post – and they will receive notification.In reply to: queries on postingBlog posts:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/new-post-notification/
https://wordpress.org/plugins/notify-users-e-mail/
Other options: http://www.mailpoet.com/post-notify-solutions-wordpress/And I didn’t find anything special for activity updates.
In reply to: I don’t understand some of BuddyPress requirementsIf you have WordPress installed with permalinks (so urls are like:
example.com/sample-page, and they work – display the content of the Sample Page) and you can upload images without any errors on Media page in wp-admin area (and can attached/insert into post/page content in WYSIWYG editor) – you are good to go.
That’s basically what those 2 last requirements mean.In reply to: queries on postingDo you want them to be notified on a new blog post or a new activity post update?
In reply to: how to increase group list in group page?Post this to bp-custom.php or functions.php of your theme.
function redblacked_more_groups_per_page($args) { $args['per_page'] = 40; return $args; } add_filter( 'bp_after_has_groups_parse_args', 'redblacked_more_groups_per_page' );In reply to: Private message link displays twiceJust go to StudioPress forum and ask there, as it’s clear from your post that it’s not a BuddyPress issue (as everything is ok in 2016 theme).
In reply to: Adding to Header areaSeems, nothing to do here with BuddyPress. It’s better to post this question somewhere else, on basic development forums. You will need basic css/html and perhaps js skills. Or try to hire a developer.
In reply to: members current time?There is no such plugin. But it’s a good idea. Noted. Hope fully will create it soon. You can subscribe to me on github – that’s where I store free plugins.
I’ve developed this plugin: https://github.com/WeFoster/bp-feeds
Currently it does not auto-update activity stream, any user should visit feeds page to get data from feed source.
But auto update will be implemented 🙂 It’s just a tricky task.Would be really cool if you could test it and provide feedback (ideally – using github issues, but this forum thread is ok too).
In reply to: how to remove extra field from registration pageAll fields in default Base (Primary) fields group will appear on registration page. Those fields can be required or not, based on Required setting for fields: http://take.ms/soyY7
So if you want to remove some custom field from registration page – just move it to another fields group (out of Base fields group).In reply to: Restric Group CreateIn reply to: how to disable users from leaving a group?Try this: https://buddypress.org/support/topic/disable-leave-group-and-request-membership-buttons/
And try this plugin as well: https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-mandatory-groups/In reply to: Cannot create groupsLook in the WordPress codex.
In reply to: Cannot create groupsBecause of no
.htaccessfile (and no WordPress permalinks) BuddyPress will not be working properly. It requires permalinks enabled. On BuddyPress activation you should see this text:
You must update your permalink structure to something other than the default for it to work.if ( ! is_user_logged_in() ) { add_filter( 'show_admin_bar', '__return_false' ); }Install
(BuddyPress) Log inwidget in sidebar. It will have both login form and logout link.

Do you have.htaccessfile in the root of your site? The same place, where you havewp-config.phpfile. If you have.htaccess– please post here its content (you can use pastebin.com to enter code details therу and post here just a link).In reply to: Cannot create groups@lorddunvegan
Change permalinks to just/%postname%. Make sure you have a published Groups page in admin area and/groups/link on front-end is accessible and display list of groups (or no groups message).In reply to: Comments in Activity StreamThere is such setting: http://take.ms/iD38m
It should be checked.And there is also such ticket in trac: https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/6482
It will allow comments syncing between activity stream item and posts (so they will appear in both places – very handy). This feature will be included into upcoming (in March) BuddyPress 2.5.Place this code in bp-custom.php or
functions.phpof your theme.if ( ! is_super_admin() ) { add_filter( 'show_admin_bar', '__return_false' ); }In reply to: uploading profile photo edgeThis is a bug in BuddyPress.
Here is a new ticket: https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/6846bp_get_activity_content_body– that’s the filter you might need.
See functionbp_get_activity_content_body()for details.
General idea (you will need a bit of regexp knowledge):
1) search in activity content for<iframekeyword.
2) if it exists – wrap it with thedivyou need
3) That’s it. This will be done on a fly for each item in activity directory. This is generally a bad idea, but no other options that I see.Or you can try a bit different approach, like using Fitvids (see this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/fitvids-for-wordpress/ or https://wordpress.org/plugins/dw-fitvids/)
