    @sulley

    Just tested an event’s creation.

    Would it be possible to have an ajaxed/realtime data checker (The end date needs to be after the start date.) instead of a refreshing one and loosing all filled in fields?

    Thanks.

    I’m experiencing the same issue with hidden group.
    I’ve created an hidden group and sent invitations but members don’t receive invitation.
    Any help on this?

    Thanks.

    @hnla I don’t have much experience with BP on the tech side (i.e. hacking core files…at least I’m able to customize BP template to use with wp theme). For now core features of BP and a bunch of stable plugins are enough to start with. So far I’m only missing a photos plugin but I’ll wait the new release of album+

    The fact is that if I’d use jomsocial+joomla again, I’d have to spend more money on components and jomsocial’s 3rd party plugins. Most of WP 3rd party plugins are free ones, compared to joomla’s ones.

    Been using jomsocial since it’s early beta stage (almost 2 years) and now switching to buddypress for a huge community site.
    Don’t like that twitter, ’cause to have “jomsocial + wordpress goodness by corephp” you have to spend $218,99 compared to $0,00 for buddypress.

    However, what I like of jomsocial is that it already comes with built-in must-have applications/plugins for a community such as videos, photos, events (besides standard ones like groups, forums, pm). Plugins all developed by the same developers (come built-in with the installer). Instead with buddypress you depend on plugin’s developers (events, photos, privacy….) and what if they’ll stop supporting/updating them? Also in jomsocil the users is given the possibility to add what application they want to their profile.

    When you’re on a group page, I think it’s not clear you have to re-click the ‘group’ link at the top to go back to groups’ frontpage since it’s already highlighted/bold. Maybe a breadcrumb will help? Like Groups -> Groupname

    There are some issues:

    missing description of buttons

    /br doesn’t work

    lists don’t work

    Will wait for the fixes. Thanks ;)

    Full translation support is coming in 0.0.6, if you are interested in translating the plugin into your language please let me know and I can create the translation set over on my GlotPress install which will allow you to easily translate the strings.

    I’d like to do the italian translation. Thanks.

    Sorry to bump the thread again but since I’m going to launch a non-english BP site these slugs need to be translated.

    Can someone suggest me how to hack the files or maybe there’ll be new language strings for these slugs in 1.2.2 version?

    Thanks again. :)

    @sulley

    Just checked some BP core files and I think those strings are still hard-coded.

    Example

    bp-themes/bp-default/groups/index.php (line #33)

    <a href="<?php echo bp_loggedin_user_domain() . BP_GROUPS_SLUG . '/my-groups/'

    Is there a way to add these slugs? Otherwise those links will remain in en-EN language regardless of language used on WP installation.

    You have to change ‘bp-default/images/default_header.jpg’ pic (10×200 px)

    #header {
    position: relative;
    color: #fff;
    background: url( ../images/default_header.jpg);
    -moz-border-radius-bottomleft: 6px;
    -webkit-border-bottom-left-radius: 6px;
    -moz-border-radius-bottomright: 6px;
    -webkit-border-bottom-right-radius: 6px;
    margin-bottom: 20px;
    height: 100px;
    padding-top: 25px;
    }

    Its width is dependent on body’s width

    body {
    min-width: 960px;
    max-width: 1250px;
    }

    Same for me. Plugin installed and enabled and getting “Please enter some content to post” error.

    WP 2.9.2 / BP 1.2
