@techguy: Thanks for your link. I first tried the entry “preg_match( “/+/”, $user_name, $maybe );” in the file bp-core-signup.php, but it did not work. Then I opened the file functions.php! The content of the file was only: So I tried to delete this and replace with code of r-a-y, but the effect was that the code […]

Svenl77 posted on the forum topic Stability of SEO Plugin in the group Seo for Buddypress: 14 years, 3 months ago
@techguy It should be stable enough now for production sites. Buddypress changed so often. That’s why I needed to rewrite the plugin 3 times. But the last version is tagged as stable. Of course there will be some missed bugs, or some conflicts with other plugins, I haven’t found yet. They will be fixed as soon […]

Killer @techguy, your kind words are much appreciated. There are many of us in the #WP and #BP community that are helping to support our early efforts. Just his week, we are taking full well advantage of what the community puts our there for our niche base project – making for flagship example of how to […]

hi @techguy,
interesting site and concept. looks good – but not quite what i’m planning to do 😉 .. and after all, being from europe (austria) this concept of “fundraising” actually is something we don’t even know like that, at least not in sports..good luck with the site,

@techguy still confused why that happened. The courses themselves are, but not the code that checks if you completed one, but I’ll do that too, good call 🙂
@ssilver22 Thanks!

@techguy, I just went through my 1and1 cpanel. It doesn’t give you that option. @umablue, with 1and1, the only way to switch to PHP5 is to use the “Add Handler” and “Add Type” strings in your htaccess file. 1and1 won’t fully switch to PHP 5 until end of Q3, according to their web site knowledge base. Thanks both, I agree there should be more in the main nav (or it should just be gotten rid of). There is a secondary nav that’s only shown to logged in users. @techguy that’s weird I did see one come up in the database without a user id. It’s a custom script I wrote, that just […]

@jeremyltn Nice. I agree with techguy re adding some links above-fold, “Employers”, “Candidates” and “Services” at least.
@techguy – this tutorial might help you getting a blog page in main site, Just make sure to delete the extra spaces between the ? and greater/less than symbols in code posted 🙂

@techguy – I’ll visit the group and post my thoughts. Thanks. By the way, I also learned that you have to put the php.ini file in the root directory, and any other directory that runs php scripts, like wp-admin and possibly plugins. Once I put the php.ini file in root, the site worked, but not the […]

Okay, so I knew about the php.ini settings in my work with WordPress. Silly me…I thought using that trick wouldn’t change the setting on 1and1, since the tech support told me that they had it set to 30 MB. Well…guess what? It worked. I set it to 128 and voila…instant BuddyPress. @UmaBlu, @techguy – you were both […]

Hey @techguy, I dropped some of the users that showed up in the query (not having validated) from the wp_users table, but then I noticed that there was a couple discrepencies with the user numbers on the user admin… so I did some checking and noticed that their user_id was also in the users_meta and xprofile_data… […]
