In reply to: Alternate View to mimic oembed type feature
Making some progress on this…
Default template: http://expeditionrated.com/members/teebes/tracking/
Streamlined template: http://expeditionrated.com/members/teebes/tracking/?ext=tI’m hoping to setup rewrite rules to have use a subdomain approach long term, ie, ext.expeditionrated.com -> url$1?ext=t to avoid the blackbox that is buddypress URLs.
One general question I need some advice on… What’s the best way to have a second set of headers/footers and bundle them with my ‘theme’? Create some functions and call them like any other content?
In reply to: Reply to forums through EmailThis is a nice feature that Jive provides… Really helps the mobile users stay active without needing to fire up the browser all the time. Good idea!
In reply to: members/forums/groups.. don’t workYou need a .htaccess to perform the internal rewrites, basically transforms the permalinks behind the scenes. What permissions are you running on your htaccess file? Also ensure your apache config is setup to look for/use htaccess.
+1… An updated skeleton would be very handy!
In reply to: Subdirectory versus subdomain in1.2Happy to see, the latest trunk version fixed many of the issues around the user’s default blog page (previously was defaulting to the activity widget for ever user). I’ll log the remaining minor items later today.

In reply to: Friends and Groups for BuddyPress 1.3@Bowe: Very cool. Thanks so much for the link, downloading it now!
In reply to: Friends and Groups for BuddyPress 1.3I love the idea of as an admin, creating a relationship between profile fields (not necessarily required ones) and groups. In fact, I was scouring around my new 1.2 install hoping this feature was already live
I see it as a good way to get folks involved in their specific demographic while always having the ability to leave the group if they want.I see this as an option when defining a group, keeping the current public/private options intact, just adding another criteria or ‘group profile rule’.
