You’re welcome, Mekudos. Thanks for checking it out.
The forums aren’t really meant to be seen by users. It’s simply what’s used to make group posting work. If you create a new group and give it some posts & replies, then head to the forums, you’ll see how the 2 parts of the installation work together.
If you want your members to actually log into and post via forums (rather than groups) then you’ll need to put a link on your template that would direct them there.
My ABC searches wouldn’t work until I disabled the “good” permalinks via
Admin >> Settings >> Permalinks
The only one that would make it work is the default.
Members are still able to use the “good” permalinks.
To combat this issue, I’m not using my admin blog. I’ve created separate blogs (i.e. articles, faq) for each of the categories I would’ve used in the admin blog.
Thank you Burt Adsit for that code. Like Hyrxx I was trying to figure out how to change the bar without hacking into the core. Does no good to make a template to share with others if they have to hack the core.
Hyrxx, to make the change that Burt Adsit explained, I simply pasted his code into the bottom of the functions.php in my theme.
