Does it work with the default BuddyPress theme?
In reply to: Feedback/Reference pluginYou could use “@” replies for this. If you are looking for a rating-type of thing, then try googling “rating” or “poll” plugins.
In reply to: User registration emails not being sentTroubleshoot using https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/check-email/
If things were working last week and they aren’t working now, then something must have changed. Usually this issue is caused by bad MX records, but it could stem from 100 other things.
It wouldn’t hurt to check with GoDaddy.
Also try using https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/ and sync it up with a Gmail account.
In reply to: Ignore FunctionThere was/is a bbPress plugin for this functionality, but it would likely only work on bbPress-core forums.
I don’t know if the BuddyPress roadmap includes this functionality at present; perhaps a moderator can chime in on that piece.
BuddyPress requires that users activate their accounts after registering. The activation link is sent via email to the registrant. It is likely that either your php mail configuration is messed up or that the email in question went into the user’s spam folder.
In any case, you can use this plugin to manage activations: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-pending-activations/
In reply to: BuddyPress pages widght and sidebar problemsThis is a theme problem. Try using the default BuddyPress theme.
In reply to: BuddyPress.org Forum Replies and Notifications@mercime – I did receive the email notification of your “@” reply.

In reply to: BP Mail Function screwing with Gravity FormsAre you using the default BP theme?
Do you get the error when using the default BuddyPress theme?
In reply to: BP Mail Function screwing with Gravity Forms@danzigism – That’s really weird… Are you using the most recent version of Gravity Forms, BuddyPress, etc.?
In reply to: Installation Error on Activation@djd_admin
1) Visit the plugins page. This should deactivate all plugins.
2) Rename the wp-content folder back to “wp-content”
3) Activate the BuddyPress plugin.
4) Activate the BuddyPress Default theme.Does this help?
@modemlooper – Good point.
@Snaphaan – Whether or not you wait for BP 1.7, the process for adding this functionality will be similar. I found some promising links by doing a google search for “buddypress xprofile image upload”.
Good luck!
In reply to: putting plugin search box in headerBuddyPress is no different from WordPress in this regard. You just need to add a sidebar to your header.php. Google “how to add sidebar to wordpress”
In reply to: Customizing Buddypress members profile pageYou will need to edit the theme files in the “members” folder of your theme.
In reply to: Custom registration form not workingYou might consider using Gravity Forms or a different plugin to pull this off.
In reply to: Home Page being redirected to registration pageThis sounds like a problem with your theme’s code. What is the “a href” code for the home link in header.php?
In reply to: Minimum Age restriction upon registrationYou could use jQuery to pull this off: http://jvdesigns.com.au/blog/validating-a-minimum-age-with-jquery-validate
In reply to: How to change the urlsDo a Google search for “modify WordPress admin bar”.
In reply to: elearningWhat specific functionality are you looking for?
In reply to: Modify Buddypress SearchYou might try a combination of jQuery + CSS. You could set a max-height with CSS and then do a show/hide with jQuery.
In reply to: Meeting SchedulerWPMUDev.org has a scheduler plugin that might be worth looking at. I haven’t tried it yet, myself.
In reply to: BP Mail Function screwing with Gravity FormsWhy not define the from name in Gravity Forms rather than pull it dynamically?
NOTE: This might be a good question to ask over at the Gravity Forms support forum.
In reply to: Removing tabs under settingsThe easiest way to get rid of the tabs is to simply “display: none;” using CSS.
Alternatively, you can hook into “bp_setup_nav” like this: http://www.themightymo.com/2012/01/26/how-to-add-remove-and-change-the-order-of-buddypress-component-menu/
