@mercime. Thank you so very much!
This is what I have. I went ahead and labeled the categories as parents. Does this look about right? Please advise.
Thank you,

Alright. Thanks for the tip. I will try over there and see what they can suggest for the change. Thanks for getting back to me. =)
Thank you so much for taking the time out to help. So far, I’ve went ahead and created the categories just like you described. Would I use these categories as a parent to the subtopics?
Thanks so much! =))
Hello?
It worked out….so it’s ay-ok! Thanks!
I will try researching the firbug for firefox. I am open to it if it helps to give a smoother cleaner page for buddypress. I think creating a child theme is the best option since it seems that changes occur always. It would help anchor some of the work that already works! I will get in touch with my guys at elegantthemes.com. THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!
This is great! Let me tell you. So this is what my activity page shows now as I click on it.
The sides of the bars are a bit off. Is there anyway to line this up? Should i talk to the people at elegant themes for this one? What can i do? Again, your help is highly valued. THANK YOU GRATELY!
Oh Ma Gawd!!!! It worked and it feels like a million bucks! I spent quite a bit of time to get this. Couldn’t have done it without you guys! I am so excited! Can you tell?!
Ok, I will try. I hope this works! I will let you know. =)
bphelp- I sure did! The community tab shows in the menu on the front page.
Dasped- I did try your suggestions and a few other things, but i think youre right, it could be some extra tweaking dealing with my I am currently trying to work this out with them although they claim not to support third parties (sigh). I may need to also directly consult with a professional bp developer. If you happen to know of any, definitely let me know. But I won’t give up till it’s complete. Thank you so much for your efforts. =)
Desped,
Thank you greatly for the response. Let me be clear about what it is I am trying to achieve. I would like to put all the buddpress functions under a tab (page) called “community”. I have tried this but have been unsuccessful when viewing the actual “community page.
I have made this page the parent page and added all the other buddy press created pages under this parent page.
Then I put them all under the menu tab.
On the main page, I do have the “Community” page in the tabs. However when I click on this, this is all I see.
At this point, I am trying to troubleshoot this issue and not finding any resolution via youtube, and all the resources I have mentioned. I am wondering, should I be creating a child theme? Not sure what will show the buddypress functions under this community tab. Please advise.
Thank you.
Thank you for that GordonRe. I will be more detailed from now and on. At the time, i am using WordPress3.5.1 i have downloaded the buddypress 1.7 beta version with the elegantthemes-lucid. I have looked at some of the links you have mentioned and I will start to read these documents more…as I learn more.
1. At the time, I am seeing that the installation is fine but I am getting widgets on the bottom of the screen. I would like to remove these widgets.
2. When i click on the “activation” page, it prompts me to enter my activation key…
3. As of now, i am not seeing Buddypress on the home page, but i would like to add a community tab that will lead to all the buddy press features. Please see illustration. Is there a way to do this?
I know I am asking for a lot at once but I would appreciate any help with any of the above!
Thank you! =)
Looking forward to it!
Well, i did follow the steps the 2nd alternative… I guess you’re recommending the first alternative? I will take your tip and download the beta version. Any projected date for the actual release of the 1.7?
